Donte Stallworth of the Cleveland Browns has been suspended indefinitely by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Stallworth, who recently plead guilty to DUI manslaughter in which a pedestrian was killed by a car Stallworth was driving, also won’t get paid during his suspension.
In the fantasy football world, this makes Stallworth completely valueless. He had minimal value prior to this incident but now there’s no situation in which he should be selected in a 2009 fantasy football draft.
According to reports, Stallworth received 30 days of jail time, two years of house arrest and eight years of probation. Considering all that baggage and …read more

Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers
While the major news regarding Steve Smith is his two-game suspension for punching a teammate, Smith now has some injury woes to deal with. Smith suffered a concussion in a preseason game that could sideline him for a bit. The good news is that he should be ready for when his suspension is lifted by the Panthers.
Braylon Edwards, Cleveland Browns

Donte Stallworth to Browns – 2008 Fantasy Projection

The Browns continue to upgrade their offense. After re-signing starting quarterback Derek Anderson, the team brought in another offensive weapon. Donte Stallworth, who was signed to a 7-year, $35 million contract, is an explosive receiver who can break any play for a touchdown.
The Browns’ offensive unit now appears to be stacked. Anderson at quarterback. Jamal Lewis at running back. Braylon Edwards and Donte Stallworth at wide receiver. Kellen Winslow II at tight end. Cleveland has a chance to be the best offensive team in the NFL in 2008.
Last season, Stallworth had a solid season with the Patriots. He had a …read more

Lee Evans, Buffalo Bills
For the most part, Lee Evans had a horrible 2007 campaign. If you picked him in your fantasy football league, you probably ended up hating the pick. That said, it 2008 Evans should be a solid wide receiver who could fall in the draft.
Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers
Although Vincent Jackson was disappointing in 2007, he appears ready to break out. In the playoffs, he had a number of great catches. Look for him to continue that play in 2008 …read more

QB Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
The New England Patriots defense is good but it’ s hardly as dominant as some league pundits make it out to be. With the Patriots keying the run on Sunday, look for the Chargers to throw early and throw often. Although Rivers is a bit banged up, he should be able to throw the ball downfield and hope for big plays out of Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson.
RB Ahmad Bradshaw, New York Giants
Bradshaw doesn’ t even start for the Giants but he’ s been impressive when carrying the ball. He actually leads the Giants …read more

Do you have bye week or injury troubles? Here are some players you can pickup and start right away in your fantasy football leagues.
Quarterback: Cleo Lemon, Miami Dolphins
Lemon is subbing for an injured Trent Green. Playing against the Browns this week, Lemon is a quality start. The Dolphins have good wide receivers and a running back in Ronnie Brown that will keep defenses honest. Lemon doesn’t have great long-term value, however for at least one week he should have some fantasy worth.
Running back: Justin Fargas or Dominic Rhodes, Oakland Raiders
All indications point to LaMont Jordan not playing. If that’s …read more
