Eli Manning Injury Update – Bruised Heel

Eli Manning Injury Update – Bruised Heel

Eli Manning had a very good outing in Week 4 of the 2009 fantasy football season. However, an Eli Manning injury in the fourth quarter has his fantasy owners worried. When dropping back to pass, Manning apparently hurt his heel – without being touched.
The fact that it was a non-contact injury could be bad news. Sometimes when tendons or ligaments pop, it happens when no one else is around.
The good news for Manning, the New York Giants and the fantasy football world is the fact that Manning was able to walk around after the game. However, be sure to keep …read more

Fantasy football owners around the world didn’t like hearing the news that Plaxico Burress has been suspended for a game for skipping a team meeting. With Burress out of action, the Giants will have to look elsewhere for production at wide receiver. The good news in that New York is packed with a ton of solid wideout options. Amani Toomer, Sinorice Moss, Steve Smith, Mario Manningham and Domenik Hixon all are …read more

With fantasy football 2008 right around the corner, let’s take a look at the most overrated fantasy football quarterbacks for the upcoming fantasy football season. These are fantasy quarterbacks who are being picked higher than their current values should merit.
Derek Anderson – While he did very well last season, Derek Anderson has an relatively inexperience receiving corps and a high profile backup.
Carson Palmer – Even though he is very talented, Carson Palmer is on a team that is heading downward and has a sometimes loony lead WR.
Marc Bulger – With Issac Bruce gone and Torry Holt aging, Marc Bulger …read more

Jeremy Shockey Traded to the Saints

The New Orleans Saints got another weapon for their offense. On Monday, the Saints acquired Shockey from the New York Giants for draft picks. Shockey will step in and become the Saints’ new starting tight end.
For the Giants, they had to make this trade because the team’s relationship with Shockey appeared to be broken. After the Giants went on to win the Super Bowl last season without Shockey, rumors spread that Shockey was unhappy and that New York would look to trade him. In return for Shockey, the Giants are getting a second rounder and a …read more

Jeremy Shockey Injury Update – Fantasy Football Impact

Jeremy Shockey broke his left leg last year during the regular season. As you might have heard, the New York Giants wound up winning the Super Bowl without Shockey’s services.

Jeremy Shockey Trade Rumors 2008

The New York Giants won the 2007 Super Bowl without the services of their star tight end Jeremy Shockey. Now there are rumors that the team could be looking to trade Shockey.
It wouldn’t be a shock to see the Giants make a trade. Shockey is a good player but he has an overbearing personality on the field. Some experts around the Giants have suggested that Shockey’s injury allowed Eli Manning to grow into more of a leadership role with the Giants. Bringing Shockey back into the fold would mess with their proven Super Bowl …read more

Eli Manning – 2008 Fantasy Football Projections

The Super Bowl MVP played fantastic in the playoffs and has earned every ounce of praise that he has gotten. Without Eli Manning, the New York Giants wouldn’t have made it anywhere close to where they made it. That said, what can we expect out of Manning in the 2008 fantasy football season?
Don’t expect too much. Sure, he was great in the playoffs, but his regular season stats have actually been getting worse over the years. He had 23 touchdowns and 3,336 yards to go with 20 interceptions during the regular season. In fantasy football, that’s not very good production. …read more

Super Stars of Super Bowl XLII

QB Eli Manning, New York Giants
Six weeks ago, there were questions whether Eli Manning was a good enough quarterback to be considered the New York Giants’ quarterback of the future. Now Manning sits as the Super Bowl MVP and the guy who single-handedly beat the unbeatable New England Patriots. His numbers don’t blow you away but his poise and big play ability were off the charts. Amazing game and amazing playoff run for Manning.
RB Ahmad Bradshaw, New York Giants
Ahmad Bradshaw came off the bench and again provided a spark for the Giants. On nine carries, Bradshaw led the Giants with …read more

Plaxico Burress Super Bowl Injury Update

As has been the case for much of the season, Plaxico Burress was slowed in practice this week by injury. In addition to his chronic ankle injury that has plagued him all year, he also had some pain in his knee.
Should it be time to panic if you have Burress on your Super Bowl fantasy football team?
Not really. Burress hasn’t had a full week of practice all season. The good news is he has had a very successful campaign. Perhaps his best game of the season was against the Green Bay Packers, the game the New York Giants won …read more
