Fantasy Basketball League Opening – Dynasty

Do you want to get into another fantasy basketball league? I’m in a 20-team dynasty league that needs a replacement owner. I’m pimping the open spot because it’s my absolute favorite league that I play in. The rules are moderately complex but it’s easy to learn. Basically, there are 20 teams, each team has a 15 man roster and you start 12 players each week.
This is definitely a league for those of you fantasy basketball experts out there or those who want to play fantasy basketball at its highest level. Most everyone in the league takes it very serious so …read more

Fantasy Perspective: Indiana Pacers

Fantasy Perspective: Indiana Pacers

After the Pacers 121-111 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, Indiana has improved to 3-0. Most league followers expected another down year for the Pacers but apparently the team didn’t get the memo. While the season has a long ways to go, perhaps the Pacers can reclaim a spot in the playoffs.
Here is a look at the key fantasy players on the Pacers:
Jermaine O’Neal
O’Neal can put up very good stats when he’s healthy. The problem has been keeping him healthy over the last couple years. He missed the season opener but has played in both games since.
Mike Dunleavy, …read more

Starters Named Around The League

Starters Named Around The League

If fantasy basketball, half the battle is locating and acquiring NBA players who are slated to start.
With the exhibition season over and the regular season right around the corner, this is the time of year we start hearing about which players each team are going to start. Here are some starters who have been named recently:
C Theo Ratliff, Minnesota Timberwolves
Ratliff has apparently won the starting center job for the Timberwolves. He has been ravaged by injuries in the last half decade but when healthy, Ratliff is always been one of the league’s best shotblockers. Keep an eye on him …read more

Power Rankings: Fantasy Perspective

An often overlooked factor in fantasy basketball is the importance of your fantasy players being on good teams. In the fantasy world, few people care about how the real teams are playing. Most fantasy owners begin and end their research on the stat sheet. While stats are important, they are not the only factor.
Why is it important how good the real NBA teams are? It’s simple, really. Players on good teams are more likely to fight through injuries, especially late in the season. Also, players on good teams have a safer spot in their team’s rotation. A player on a …read more

Injury News: Fantasy Perspective

Injury News: Fantasy Perspective

Elton Brand, Los Angeles Clippers
Brand was recently allowed to shed his walking boot and start more rigorous cardiovascular exercises. The Clippers’ power forward is attempting to come back from a torn Achilles tendon. While Brand seems to be recovery pretty swiftly, drafting him in a fantasy basketball league is risky. There’s a chance he’s out for the season and even if he does return, there’s no guarantee he’ll immediately return to his prior form.
Chris Bosh, Toronto Raptors
Bosh has been out of action since Oct. 7 when he started to experience knee pain. While the injury wasn’t believed to be serious, …read more
