In the fantasy basketball world, the fantasy playoffs are at hand for most leagues. Even if you like your roster, finding a sleeper could still mean the difference between winning your fantasy basketball championship and flaming out early. Here’s a look at some fantasy NBA sleepers that could help you in your drive to a championship:

Francisco Garcia, Sacramento Kings
Although Garcia’s minutes have been somewhat erratic, he’s a fantasy basketball dream if he gets the playing time. He can help you in a number of categories and is capable of exploding for huge outings.

Hilton Armstrong, New Orleans Hornets
With the health of Tyson Chandler a question mark, Armstrong has emerged as an interesting center option. While he is still raw, he has shown the potential to put up points, rebounds and blocks in a hurry.

Thabo Sefolosha, Oklahoma City Thunder
Since coming over from the Bulls, the entire state of Oklahoma has fallen in love with Sefolosha. He fits perfectly next to Kevin Durant and Jeff Green and appears to be a player who has a bright future.

Craig Smith, Minnesota Timberwolves
The T’Wolves continue to look for a player capable of filling the giant shoes of Al Jefferson. Smith is an explosive option off the bench. He can use his strong body to score down low and battle on the boards.

Bobby Jackson Broken Cheekbone – Fantasy Impact

Bobby Jackson, who had been starting for the Sacramento Kings at point guard, suffered a broken cheekbone in a recent game and will have to undergo surgery. Following the procedure, the Kings will know whether or not Jackson will be able to play again this season.

Since the February, Jackson had emerged as a fantasy relevant. He had been getting good minutes and producing decent numbers across the board.

With Jackson sidelined, expect Beno Udrih to get most of the minutes at point guard. Udrih has started most of the games for the Kings this year at point guard but missed time recently due to an ankle strain.

In the first game without Jackson, the Kings opted to start Francisco Garcia at point guard. If that alignment continues, Garcia’s value will increase tremendously.

As for Jackson, he’s certainly a player you can waive at this point. With Sacramento having nothing to play for, Jackson will likely not be a major factor again this season.

Small Forward Sleepers – Fantasy 2008

Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder
Even though many feel Kevin Durant underachieved in his rookie season because he wasn’t Michael Jordan reincarnate, Durant was still good and should be even better in the 2008-09 fantasy basketball season.

Francisco Garcia, Sacramento Kings
With Ron Artest now in Houston, Francisco Garcia should see a lot of starts during the upcoming season. When he gets time, he has proven to be a player that can help in a whole list of categories.

Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks
Josh Childress signing in Greece should help Marvin Williams stay on the court. Childress ate up some of his time in the past but this year, Williams could emerge as a very good fantasy basketball player. He’s definitely a sleeper small forward as of right now.

Wilson Chandler, New York Knicks
With Mike D’Antoni in town, everyone knows the Knicks will be running and gunning. While it’s far from a certainty that Wilson Chandler will start at small forward, he could put up really good stats if given the opportunity. During summer league, Chandler was oftentimes the best player on the court.

Dwyane Wade and Ron Artest: The Return

Let’s look at the fantasy perspective of the return of Dwyane Wade and Ron Artest. Both players can be superstar fantasy players, however their arrival will shake up the fantasy value of other players on the team.

Ron Artest
With the return of Ron Artest, the Kings opted to put John Salmons and Francisco Garcia on the bench. This is obviously devastating news to Salmons and Garcia owners. Interestingly enough, Beno Udrih was elevated into the starting lineup. Artest owners should be excited and Udrih all of a sudden becomes relevant in the fantasy world. Keep an eye on Salmons and Garcia to see how much they play in upcoming games.

Dwyane Wade
Wade owners who survived the first couple weeks of the season without him have to be thrilled to get him back this soon. It was unknown when he’d finally be able to return. However, there’s bad news for Penny Hardaway and Dorrell Wright. Hardaway is about to be benched in favor of Wade and Wright is about to be out of the rotation completely. Also keep an eye on Ricky Davis, as he could see his time greatly reduced, as well.
