Mike Dunleavy of the Indiana Pacers was one of the biggest hits in the fantasy basketball world last season. This year, the lanky forward has been injured for most of the season. It was revealed recently that his NBA was in jeopardy about a month ago. That’s when Dunleavy decided to have a risky surgery to remove a bone spur in his knee.
Thankfully, the surgery was a success and doctors no longer fear that Dunleavy’s career is in jeopardy. That said, he’s going to be sidelined for a long time. At the very earliest, the Pacers expect Dunleavy back on …read more

The Indiana Pacers got a huge win on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers came into the game with only one loss — but the Pacers were able to give them their second loss when Troy Murphy tipped in a shot at the buzzer to give the Pacers a one-point win. You can watch the Troy Murphy video at the end of the entry to watch the tip-in and the ensuing celebration.
As a team, the Indiana Pacers are a hard bunch to figure out in regards to the fantasy basketball potential of their players. The only surefire player …read more
Amare Stoudemire Video – Dunk of Jeff Foster

The knee problems that have seemingly haunted Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns the last few seasons seem to be a distant memory. Evidence of that can be seen in this video of Stoudemire where he can be seen dunking the ball viciously on Jeff Foster of the Indiana Pacers.
Fantasy basketball owners were high on Stoudemire entering the season and he has done nothing to change that perception. His stats right now are fantastic. Stoudemire is averaging nearly 26 points, nearly ten rebounds and is shooting nearly 70% from the field and nearly 85% at the foul line. He …read more
TJ Ford Traded For Jermaine O’Neal – Impact

On the day before the 2008 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers completed the offseason’s first big trade. The Pacers traded Jermaine O’Neal to the Toronto Raptors for TJ Ford, Rasho Nesterovic and the 17th pick in the draft.
For the Raptors, O’Neal will give the team the perfect center to put next to Chris Bosh. The last Raptors have never had a very good center but if O’Neal can stay healthy, he can change all that. O’Neal is a very good center with a good low post game. In terms of …read more
Best Fantasy Basketball Small Forwards in 2008

1) Shawn Marion, Miami Heat
While Shawn Marion split his time between the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat this season, he remained a fantasy stud. Marion’s game is built for fantasy basketball and although he won’t have Steve Nash on his side anymore, he should continue to be a fantasy force.
2) LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
LeBron James is probably the most talented and perhaps the best player in the NBA but his fantasy game isn’t as flawless. He’s no doubt a top three small forward, however he’s not as overwhelmingly dominant in fantasy basketball as he is in the NBA.

Rafer Alston, Houston Rockets
The Rockets are on a 20-game winning streak and one of the biggest reasons is the play of Rafer Alston. Alston struggled a bit earlier in the season but he’s playing great right now. Over the last month or so, Alston has really improved and he has become a quality fantasy option.
Beno Udrih, Sacramento Kings
The Kings gave a lot of reasons for why they traded Mike Bibby, but perhaps the biggest reason was because the team thinks it has found a better point guard in Beno Udrih. Udrih is a player who can score, …read more

Thaddeus Young, Philadelphia 76ers
Recently inserted into the starting lineup, Thaddeus Young is a player who could become a reliable player in the fantasy world as the season goes along. He’s only 19-years-old but he has an all-around game that is conducive to fantasy basketball. Keep an eye on him.
Bobby Simmons, Milwaukee Bucks
Bobby Simmons has been starting most of the time in recent weeks and he has produced decent numbers. While he still isn’t as good as he was a couple of seasons ago, he still has a chance of reaching those lofty numbers of the past. With the Bucks suffering …read more
Sleeper Shooting Guards – February 2008

Marko Jaric, Minnesota Timberwolves
Jaric is a bit of a combo guard for the Timberwolves. Offensively, Jaric mostly plays point guard, while defensively he’s a shooting guard. The result is Jaric is able to put up nice numbers in a lot of statistics. He’s not going to be a highly consistent player because he’s on a bad team that has a lot of younger guards, but Jaric should be a solid fantasy player from here on out.
Kareem Rush, Indiana Pacers
Rush has been a surprise for the Pacers this season. He has been in and out of the starting lineup but he …read more

Earl Watson, Seattle Supersonics
Watson has been starting for the Sonics for a while now and has slowly improved since the start of the season. He still doesn’t shoot for a high percentage and his offense remains erratic, however his assists numbers have gone up nicely as of late. With the Sonics winning more games lately, Watson has a chance to be a decent fantasy point guard.
Earl Boykins, Charlotte Bobcats
As I talked about in this blog entry, Boykins has a chance to be a very sneaky pickup this season. Considering he’s available in most leagues, picking up Boykins is the type …read more

Carlos Delfino, Toronto Raptors
Delfino has always been an intriguing prospect. He can score, rebound and pass a bit. He’s basically a poor man’s version of Manu Ginobili. If his role increases with the Raptors, he could become a very good fantasy option. Right now, he’s a hit-and-miss type fantasy players.
Kelenna Azubuike, Golden State Warriors
Some fantasy owners have begun to sour on Azubuike. He started the season off very good but has slowly started to see more pine time. However, the think to keep in mind is that Don Nelson loves to switch around his lineup. Before you know it, Azubuike …read more
