Dallas Mavericks – Fantasy Basketball Analysis

The big news for the Dallas Mavericks recently has been the absence of forward Josh Howard. Although Howard was listed as day-to-day, on Tuesday the team revealed that he’s been given a walking boot and will be sidelined for an indefinite period of time. For Howard fantasy owners, that means you probably will have to wait for at least another couple of weeks before getting him back in your lineup.
The odd aspect about Howard’s absence is that it has actually helped the Mavs. They are playing much better without him. The main reason why is the play of JJ Barea. …read more

Dallas Mavericks – Fantasy Basketball Analysis

The Dallas Mavericks have roughly the same team that they had last season, but with a new coach at the helm, expect big changes. Rick Carlisle is promising to let the offense be faster paced than it was under Avery Johnson. He’s also going to make the defense more of a gambling unit than a bend-but-don’t-break unit.
All told, these changes should have positive effects on may of the players on the roster in terms of their fantasy basketball status. Dirk Nowitzki should see his scoring average rise and should also see more three-pointers. If his numbers would go down anywhere, …read more

Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks? Fantasy Impact

The on-again, off-again trade between the Dallas Mavericks and the New Jersey Nets hasn’t become official just yet. However, the proposed trade would send basically Jason Kidd to the Mavericks, while the Nets would get Devin Harris and DeSagana Diop. There are other players and picks involved but in the fantasy world, these are the three relevant moving parts.
If this trade goes down, Jason Kidd owners would have to be happy. Kidd would be motivated and happy once again. In the NBA, never underestimate the power of happiness. While Kidd’s stats are pretty good right now, expect his stats to …read more

Top Five Fantasy Point Guards

1) Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
Paul has been fantastic this season. He’s really taken the next step in his development and has turned into a fantasy monster. Not only is he easily the best fantasy point guard in the game, he’s arguably a top three fantasy player in any position.
2) Steve Nash, Phoenix Suns
As Nash ages, he seemingly just gets better. He’s getting to the age where a lot of players start to decline, but that decline hasn’t hit yet. Instead, he’s playing as good as or better than ever. His shooting is fantastic and …read more

Taking A Look At The Best

Here are the top ten fantasy basketball players this season according to Yahoo’s standard scoring. All of these games are recognizable but a number of them weren’t expected to be this good.
1) Kevin Garnett
If you have Garnett on your team, you have to be happy with his production. He’s giving you production in every category except three-pointers. There’s a great chance he finishes in the top three this season.

2) Shawn Marion
Although Marion had a tumultuous summer, his fantasy game is as good as ever. Even though his free throw percentage is down a bit, he’s still near the top like …read more

Fantasy Basketball: The Best

According to Yahoo’s standard scoring, these are the top ten players currently in fantasy basketball. Can they keep up the pace?
Jason Terry
Terry is off to a great, great start. He’s playing very well in his new role off the bench – the same role he played at the University of Arizona. That said, he’s not going to keep up this pace all season. Trade him high if you can.
Chris Paul
Paul, like Terry, is playing great. The difference is that Paul might be able to stay this much of fire. He’s an extremely talented player and has good players around him. …read more
