Fantasy Basketball Sleepers – October

Early on in the 2009-10 NBA season, there are a few fantasy basketball sleepers that are making their names known. These players could be able to step up and help you win a fantasy basketball championship this season. Here’s a look at the sleepers we have seen so far:
C Ben Wallace, Detroit Pistons
It seemed like Ben Wallace’s career was over. In the last few seasons, he did next to nothing. But he’s starting for the Pistons at center and he’s putting up stats. It might not last but he’s valuable for the time being.
PF Marreese Speights, Philadelphia 76ers
Although Marreese Speights …read more

Jason Williams to the Knicks? Fantasy View

Last season, Jason Williams signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. Shortly after signing, Williams announced his retirement. After a year away from NBA basketball, Williams has decided he wants to play again.
The New York Knicks claimed Williams off waivers and they are reportedly talking to him right now about a contract. While it’s been a while since White Chocolate was relevant in the fantasy basketball world, signing with the Knicks would make him relevant once again.
The 33-year-old native of West Virginia would likely have a chance of starting for Mike D’Antoni. A point guard in D’Antoni’s offense is worth rostering …read more

Jason Williams Video – White Chocolate Retires

Earlier in the offseason, we reported that Jason Williams had signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. Now comes the news that Jason Williams, also known as White Chocolate, has retired from the NBA. He made the decision prior to training camp opening for the Clippers.
The 33-year-old point guard hasn’t given any specific word about why he retired, but one can assume it is injury related. Williams has struggled with injuries in recent years and his once explosive play had slowed considerably.
With the Clippers, who was going to be one of Baron Davis’ main backups. But now the White Chocolate legacy …read more

White Chocolate signs with the Clippers

Jason Williams, who is known perhaps more by his nickname of White Chocolate, has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Williams has spent the last few seasons with the Miami Heat, where he was a part of the 2005-06 NBA champions.
With the Clippers, Williams will give the team a very capable backup point guard. With Baron Davis as the starter, there’s a pretty good chance that Williams will get some starts considering Davis’ injury history.
Going into the 2008-09 NBA season, Williams is no longer a draftable player in fantasy basketball. However, if something is to …read more

Shaq Traded to Suns? Fantasy Impact

If the rumor becomes reality and Shaquille O’Neal gets traded to the Phoenix Suns for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks, this will be a huge trade in the NBA and a huge trade for fantasy basketball.
Looking at it from an NBA perspective, the Suns are doing this trade to try to win a championship this season. They’re small ball formula simply wasn’t going to get them past teams like the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers with Pau Gasol. Now, with O’Neal on their side, the Suns suddenly have a chance to win a championship. It was …read more

Fantasy Basketball Week 6: Waiver Wire Pickups

PG Jason Williams, Miami Heat
Williams got benched earlier in the week, causing a lot of fantasy owners to drop him. If he’s on your league’s waiver wire, pick him back up. Since going to the bench, Williams has played great. He’s still getting starter level minutes and should get his starting job back soon enough.
SG Carlos Delfino, Toronto Raptors
Delfino has quietly been on fire as of late. He has scored at least 13 points and pulled down at least six rebounds in each of his last four games, including 24 points and eight rebounds against the Cleveland Cavaliers recently. While …read more
