Yesterday we looked at the underrated fantasy football players for the 2009 fantasy season. Today we’ll look at the overrated fantasy players. If you select one of these players, be aware of the downside.
QB Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals
Yes, Kurt Warner was very good last season. But though he was able to play all 16 games, his injury plagued history can’t be ignored. It was his first full season since 2001. If you pick Warner, get a quality fantasy backup quarterback to go along with him.
RB Steven Jackson, St. Louis Rams
In the last few seasons, Steven Jackson has been decent. But …read more

1. Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons
After being underrated the last few seasons in fantasy football, Tony Gonzalez is impossible to ignore right now. He’s on the Falcons now and could have another huge season.
2. Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers

Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City Chiefs
In the 2008 fantasy football season, Tony Gonzalez has been far and away the best tight end in the NFL. Even though the Chiefs have gone through three starting quarterbacks, Gonzalez has remained productive. Going forward, he’s definitely the best tight end to own at this point.
Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts
To start the season, Dallas Clark got off to an amazingly slow start. He had all the appearances of a draft bust. But in the middle of the season, he started to turn it around as he recovered from an early season injury. Right now, he may …read more

QB Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles
A week after being benched, Donovan McNabb responded in a big way in Week 13 on Thanksgiving. McNabb had four touchdown passes to go along with 260 yards and no interceptions. Although he was going against the below average Arizona Cardinals defense, this performance bodes well for upcoming weeks.
RB Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia Eagles
McNabb wasn’t the only Eagles player who had a breakout game. Brian Westbrook, who had been slowed lately due to injury, had a huge day. Westbrook finished the game with four total touchdowns — two rushing and two receiving. If McNabb can get back …read more

QB Shaun Hill, San Francisco 49ers
Shaun Hill is now the starting quarterback in San Francisco and makes for a very fine Week 9 Waiver Wire pickup. With Mike Martz still with the 49ers, you can expect the team to throw the ball a lot. Hill was somewhat effective last season and has a chance to become a decent backup for the rest of the fantasy football season.
RB Kevin Faulk, New England Patriots
With injuries to Laurence Maroney, Sammy Morris and LaMont Jordan, the door is open for Kevin Faulk to be the main running back option. The good thing about Faulk …read more

Brad Johnson will take over for an injured Tony Romo
Tony Romo injured his pinkie during the Week 6 loss against the Arizona Cardinals. The injury is expected to sideline Romo for up to a month. While Romo is out injured, Brad Johnson will take over the reins as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
Although Romo is expected to take at least two weeks to heal, there is growing sentiment that he’ll fight through the injury. If he can withstand the pain and throw accurately, there’s a chance that he will play in Week 7. However, the more likely scenario is he’ll let …read more

QB Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Going up against the Oakland Raiders, Drew Brees should have a good game in Week 6. You can expect him to be pass happy and he will likely finish with at least two touchdowns. He looks even like a better start with Marques Colston and Jeremy Shockey possibly returning.
RB Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Coming into the season, many fantasy football owners thought Adrian Peterson would be the best running back of 2008. Although he hasn’t been dominant all season, he’s starting to elevate his game. Going forward, it appears as if Peterson is the best RB …read more

QB Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts
After a tough Week 1, Peyton Manning should be able to bounce back in Week 2. Going up against a team in the Minnesota Vikings that is great against the run, Manning will be called on to pass early and pass often. Expect a couple touchdowns and 250 plus yards.
