After watching Week 1, a handful of fantasy football players emerged that should be picked up off the waiver wire. If any of these players are on the waiver wire in your fantasy league, act quickly to add them to your roster.
QB Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens
After a steady rookie season, it appears as if Joe Flacco may surprise many fantasy owners this season. He has a big arm and displayed it well in Week 1.
RB Michael Bush, Oakland Raiders
Sure, Darren McFadden is the starter. But the Raiders can rn the ball and Michael Bush should get plenty of touches this …read more

When you think of fantasy football sleepers, you probably think of young players looking to explode onto the scene. However, in the 2009 fantasy football season, there are a number of veteran players who could produce at surprisingly high levels. Here is our list of fantasy football veteran sleepers for the 2009 season:
QB Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings
While most football fans are tired of Brett Favre retirement stories, don’t forget about how good he was at times last year. After four weeks, Favre had 12 touchdowns and only four interception. Late in the year his numbers suffered, however that could have …read more

QB Shaun Hill, San Francisco 49ers
Not only is Shaun Hill playing good football at the moment, his Week 16 matchup against the St. Louis Rams is golden. If you need a fantasy football quarterback for this week and Hill is available on the waiver wire, pick him up and start him without hesitation.
RB Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals
Last week, Benson had 152 total yards against the Washington Redskins. In Week 16, he gets to play the porous defense of the Cleveland Browns. Benson is starting to reach his potential and is a relatively safe fantasy football start this week.

QB Kyle Orton, Chicago Bears
Although Kyle Orton has only one touchdown pass since his return from injury, he’s once again healthy and has a good matchup this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings. With the Vikings capable of shutting down the run, expect Orton to pass early and pass often.
RB Justin Fargas, Oakland Raiders
Last week, Justin Fargas got over 100 yards against the Denver Broncos. This week, Fargas will go up against the Kansas City Chiefs, the owners of the worst rush defense in the NFL. There’s a great chance that Fargas will surprise and have one of his best games …read more

QB Brad Johnson, Dallas Cowboys
If Tony Romo misses any action, Brad Johnson should be able to fill in decently enough. Against a poor defense, Johnson is a good start even at his old age due to all the offensive weapons at his disposal. However, be aware that Romo is necessarily out for Week 7 so you should still follow that storyline closely.
RB Dominic Rhodes, Indianapolis Colts
With Joseph Addai out approximately 2-to-4 weeks, Dominic Rhodes will step into a starter’s role. Although he isn’t as good as Addai, Rhodes runs hard and should be able to produce. He’s a decent RB2 …read more

QB Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Going up against the Oakland Raiders, Drew Brees should have a good game in Week 6. You can expect him to be pass happy and he will likely finish with at least two touchdowns. He looks even like a better start with Marques Colston and Jeremy Shockey possibly returning.
RB Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Coming into the season, many fantasy football owners thought Adrian Peterson would be the best running back of 2008. Although he hasn’t been dominant all season, he’s starting to elevate his game. Going forward, it appears as if Peterson is the best RB …read more

RB Mewelde Moore, Pittsburgh Steelers
Willie Parker is hurt and Rashard Mendenhall is now also hurt and out for the season. That leaves the running back job in Pittsburgh to Mewelde Moore. He may be startable until Parker returns.
WR Steve Breaston, Arizona Cardinals
With Anquan Boldin getting injured in Week 4, Steve Breaston will likely move into a starting gig for as long as Boldin is out. …read more

The New Orleans Saints got another weapon for their offense. On Monday, the Saints acquired Shockey from the New York Giants for draft picks. Shockey will step in and become the Saints’ new starting tight end.
For the Giants, they had to make this trade because the team’s relationship with Shockey appeared to be broken. After the Giants went on to win the Super Bowl last season without Shockey, rumors spread that Shockey was unhappy and that New York would look to trade him. In return for Shockey, the Giants are getting a second rounder and a …read more
