Joey Dorsey, a rookie forward on the Houston Rockets, got ejected from a summer league game on Saturday. Impressively, he got ejected even though he wasn’t even in uniform.
Dorsey was angered after one of his teammates got fouled hard. The timing of his technical wasn’t very good because it played a part in the Washington Wizards being able to send the game into overtime.

2008 NBA Draft Sleepers - Mock Draft

Goran Dragic, Slovenia
Most draft experts expect Goran Dragic to be drafted in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft. The point guard out of Slovenia has the skills to be the next successful international point guard. He has looked good in international play guarding Tony Parker, which few at any level can say.
Joey Dorsey, Memphis
Although Memphis almost won the 2008 national championship, Joey Dorsey hasn’t received much credit for that team’s play. There’s a good shot that he’ll be drafted in the second round of the draft, however there’s a chance that he could turn into a Ben Wallace type player.
Nathan Jawai, Australia
At 6-foot-10 and 275 pounds, Nathan Jawai is a very large prospect. He’s also very raw. He currently plays in the Australian basketball league and he’s bit of an unknown. But with his size and his success in Australia, there’s a chance that he could be a second round steal.
Keith Brumbaugh, Hillsborough CC
Keith Brumbaugh is a former standout recruit who fell on some hard times. He’s back to playing basketball and showed a lot of potential on the JUCO level. He has great size for a perimeter player and a lot of natural. Brumbaugh could be a late flyer that pans out.

Joey Dorsey 2008 NBA Draft Prospect

While Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts get a lot of the recognition, they aren’t the only players on the Memphis Tigers who will hear their name announced during the 2008 NBA Draft. Joey Dorsey is another Memphis player who will be drafted into the NBA.
Dorsey is a bit of an odd prospect because he isn’t much of an offensive player. In fact, he is averaging less than seven points per game. However, Dorsey makes his name on the defensive end of the court. At 6-foot-9 and 265 pounds, Dorsey is a great rebounder and is very good at blocking shots.
While he’s a long shot at this point to be drafted in the first round, this senior out of Baltimore should get drafted in the top of the second round. NBA teams can always use defensive minded bigmen and Dorsey definitely fits that bill. He has the tools to be a Ben Wallace type player on the professional level.
He’ll obviously need to work on his offensive game, especially his free throw shooting. He’s shooting less than 40% at the free throw line, which doesn’t exactly help his draft stock. He has a couple of decent post moves but he’ll need to finish on a consistent basis to survive in the NBA.
Overall, Dorsey will be a safe pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He’ll likely be able to carve out a career for himself as an energetic defensive minded bigman off the bench for an NBA team.
