QB Matt Schaub, Houston Texans
Although he’s still out injured Matt Schaub should be returning in one of the upcoming weeks. There’s even a chance that he may be ready to go in Week 14. Once he gets back on the field, Schaub very well could be a top ten starter the rest of the way. If he’s available on your Week 14 waiver wire, go ahead and pick him up.

RB Brandon Jackson, Green Bay Packers
Ryan Grant has had a disappointing season and now he even has an injury. While the injury isn’t considered severe, Brandon Jackson has looked better than Grant for much of the season. Don’t be surprised to see Jackson get the starting job so that the Packers can see what they have in the second-year running back.

WR Davone Bess, Miami Dolphins
Go ahead and pick this guy up if he’s available. Davone Bess is going to get a lot of action the rest of the season and could even become Chad Pennington’s go-to wide receiver. He has good speed and has the potential to break one just about every week.

TE John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks
With Matt Hasselbeck back as the starter at quarterback, the receiving options are more trustworthy for the Seahawks and fantasy football owners alike. John Carlson has had a good rookie season at tight end and should have a good end to his season. With the wide receivers still struggling, Carlson may be Hasselbeck’s best option.

Not too long ago, Muhsin Muhammad and Steve Smith formed a lethal combination. With Steve Smith making his debut for the Panthers this week, Muhammad could become a favorite target for Jake Delhomme in the end zone.

TE John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks
If John Carlson is available in your fantasy football league’s waiver wire, be sure to snag him up as soon as possible. The rookie tight end for the Seahawks promises to be a big part of the team’s offense, especially with all their injuries at the wide receiver position.

With Vince Young injured, Kerry Collins will step in as quarterback for the Titans. Collins has a great matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and could be in line for a big day.

RB Sammy Morris, New England Patriots
Tom Brady won’t be there to pass around the football for the Patriots, which could lead to more runs for Sammy Morris. He had a good Week 1 and should follow that up with a solid Week 2.

WR Eddie Royal, Denver Broncos
In the first game of his NFL career, Eddie Royal looked like a future great player. Jay Cutler looked for him repeatedly and Royal didn’t disappoint. Start Royal with confidence until he shows otherwise.

TE John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks
With Seattle’s top four wide receivers injured (Deion Branch, Bobby Engram, Nate Burleson and Ben Obomanu), look for John Carlson to get a lot of looks in Week 2. He’s arguably the most talented receiver left on the Seahawks roster.

K John Carney, New York Giants
Even though John Carney is up in age and even though he’s not the full-time kicker for the Giants, he’s a very good start this week. Against the Rams, Carney should get two or three field goals at minimum.

D Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals defense looked extremely strong in Week 1. Feel free to start them again this week against Miami Dolphins.

Although the Seattle Seahawks had other draft picks in the 2008 NFL Draft, their second round pick is likely their most important pick of the draft. The Seahawks picked John Carlson in the second round, who is a tight end out of Notre Dame.

Tight end has long been a trouble spot for the Seahawks. Either they’ve had a tight end that can block but can’t catch, or a tight end that can catch but can’t block. Carlson has a chance to be Seattle’s first tight end in a long time that can both catch and block.

At 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds, Carlson definitely has the size to block. He wasn’t much of a blocker at Notre Dame, but he with further coaching he can improve that part of his game.

At times in college, Carlson looked like a great receiving tight end. However, his senior season was a bit of a disappointment. He caught 40 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns. In the scouting combine, Carlson also clocked out as a slower than average tight end. Additionally, Carlson struggled with drops in his college career.

That said, Carlson runs good routes and has shown flashes of being an acrobatic receiver. The Seahawks will hope that he’s capable of starting and playing almost every down. If he can become the full-time tight end, his fantasy potential should be relatively high. Keep an eye on him but as a full-time starter, Carlson is a nice sleeper as a backup tight end in fantasy football.

3. John Carlson, Notre Dame
Notre Dame had a disastrous season last year, Carlson was one of the few bright spots. He’s a very heady tight end with good athleticism who would be a safe pick in the draft. His stock could rise depending on his combine results.

4. Martellus Bennett, Texas A&M
Bennett has great size at over 6-foot-7 and 252 pounds. His combination of size and athleticism gives him the chance to be as good as anyone on this list. Keep an eye on him as he could start climbing the draft charts.

5. Jermichael Finley, Texas
Finley has a huge amount of talent but was mysteriously underutilized at the University of Texas. Perhaps some of that was his fault but the offense didn’t seem geared to getting him the ball. However, some team in the NFL will take a chance on him.

If you are in a dynasty league and your season is over, you are looking ahead to some of the college talent that is coming out this season. There are a number of impact players in this year’s draft, which is good news for dynasty teams that finished near the bottom.

QB Brian Brohm, Louisville
Brohm was the top rated quarterback coming into this season and he performed very well this season. While he didn’t quite have the senior season that some people projected, he’s still a sure fire first rounder who could very well end up going in the top five. Like any rookie quarterback, he’d be a long-term project but he surely has very good promise.

RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas
McFadden finished second in the Heisman after a huge junior season. While he’d be the no-brainer favorite to win the Heisman next season, everyone expects him to jump into the draft this year. He’s a very explosive running back who could come in and be a stud right away in the NFL. He will most likely be the first pick in most dynasty drafts this coming year.

WR Limas Sweed, Texas
Sweed is a big wide receiver with long arms who should make a team happy somewhere in the first round of the draft. At just at shade under 6-foot-5, Sweed is a player with nearly limitless potential. Many scouts feel he should be a good fit on the NFL level. He had some injury trouble in his senior season that could scare off a few teams.

TE John Carlson, Notre Dame
Despite Notre Dame’s pitiful season, Carlson is considered by many to be the best tight end in the draft.
