So far we have looking at updated quarterback rankings, updated running back rankings and updated wide receiver rankings for fantasy football 2008. Here are the updated kicker rankings:
1. Nick Folk – Folk and the Cowboys should score plenty in 2008.
2. Nate Kaeding – Look for Kaeding to bounce back this season.
3. Shayne Graham – Graham always seems to be a solid option.
4. Rob Bironas – Can Bironas keep it up?
5. Stephen Gostkowski – Gostkowski has a very high ceiling in 2008.

Where should you draft your fantasy kicker in a 2008 fantasy football draft? Here is the fantasy kickers average draft position to give you a good idea.
Stephen Gostkowski – Beginning of the 13th round.
Rob Bironas – Middle of the 14th round.
Shayne Graham – Beginning of the 15th round.
Nate Kaeding – Middle of the 15th round.
Adam Vinatieri – Middle of the 15th round.
Josh Brown – Middle of the 15th round.

Mason Crosby – With all the Brett Favre drama swirling around, Mason Crosby might get caught in the crossfire.
Rob Bironas – Rob Bironas proved capable of breaking records last season. But on the Titans, he can run into dry spells.
Josh Brown – Now on the St. Louis Rams, he could be in for a long season on a potentially bad team.

After letting Josh Brown go, the Seattle Seahawks have inked kicker Olindo Mare to a contract. The final two teams fighting over Mare’s services were the Seahawks and the Denver Broncos.
Although Mare struggled in 2007 with the New Orleans Saints, Mare is expected to be the Seahawks’ kicker in 2008. Brown had a successful career with the Seahawks and Mare will have big shoes to fill.

If you are in a league that plays through Week 17, a couple points here and there from your kicker or D might make a difference in a fantasy football championship. Here are some suggestions who you should play.
K Rob Bironas, Tennessee Titans
The Titans will be trying to win this game. To beat the Indianapolis Colts, they will probably rely on Bironas’ leg. There’s a good chance that Bironas has at least a couple field goals this week. The Colts don’t have much to play for and will likely sit their big names for much of the game.

Against the Texans with Vince Young’s status in doubt, Bironas should see the field quite a bit. This game promises to be a low scoring affair that could be won by the leg of a kicker. Bironas has been solid this season and while he’s not a great long-term kicker, he’s a nice play this week.
