Matt Cassel Traded to the Chiefs – Analysis

The New England Patriots have traded quarterback Matt Cassel to the Kansas City Chiefs for a second round draft pick. Last season, Cassel got better and better as the QB for the Patriots after Tom Brady was lost for the season during the first game.
In Kansas City, Cassel is all but assured of being the starter. With new management in town, the Chiefs wanted a proven signal caller to run their offense — and they got one.
The good news for Cassel is the fact that the Chiefs have some talent on that end of the field. Wide receiver Dwayne …read more

Larry Johnson to Leave Chiefs? – Fantasy Impact

Although the NFL offseason has just begun, Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs has already made it known that he’d like to be elsewhere. Johnson, who was once a fantasy football powerhouse, didn’t name any teams that he’d like to join.
Last season, Johnson had his second consecutive disappointing fantasy season. In 2006, Johnson had 1789 yards and 17 touchdowns. However, over the last two season, Johnson has only been able to total less than 1400 yards and eight touchdowns.
Part of the problem for Johnson is that the Chiefs simply aren’t that good. They’ve gone through a youth movement and …read more

Best Players in Fantasy Football Week 14

Best Players in Fantasy Football Week 14

QB Matt Schaub, Houston Texans
Returning from injury, Matt Schaub showed why he’s regarded as one of the up and coming quarterbacks in fantasy football. In Week 14, Schaub played very well against the Green Bay Packers. He finished the game with 414 passing yards and two touchdowns. Plus he orchestrated a game-winning drive near the end of the game, which should help his confidence going forward.
RB Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia Eagles
When healthy, Brian Westbrook continues to be a beast. In Week 14, Westbrook had over 200 combined rushing and receiving yards and two touchdowns. More impressively, he did that damage against …read more

Best Starts in Week 14 Fantasy Football

Best Starts in Week 14 Fantasy Football

QB Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals
This is a dream matchup for fantasy football Kurt Warner owners. At home going against his former team, Warner should be able to destroy the St. Louis Rams. He played well against the Rams earlier in the season and that was on the road. This team, he should be able to go for at least 320 yards and two touchdowns.
RB Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Going up against the Detroit Lions, Adrian Peterson should be running early and often. The Lions are putrid defensively and the Vikings should easily be able to move the ball. The only thing …read more

Week 14 – Fantasy Football Sleepers

Week 14 – Fantasy Football Sleepers

QB Gus Frerotte, Minnesota Vikings
In Week 14 of the 2008 fantasy football season, Gus Frerotte is going up against the Detroit Lions. That alone is enough to make him a sleeper. However, Frerotte is actually playing better than most realize. Last week he had two touchdowns and in the last six weeks, he has a total of ten touchdowns. Start him in Week 14 with confidence.
RB Pierre Thomas, New Orleans Saints
With Deuce McAllister suspended and Reggie Bush still slowed by injury, Pierre Thomas is a very important member of the Saints backfield right now. He’s the goal line back and …read more

Best Fantasy Football Players in 2008

QB Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
The only thing that was able to slow down Tony Romo this season was an injured pinkie. When healthy, he’s been the best fantasy football quarterback in the NFL. Although Drew Brees, Kurt Warner and Aaron Rodgers haven’t been too shabby, Romo tops them all when he’s on the field.

RB Thomas Jones, New York Jets
After a relatively slow start to the season, Thomas Jones has been on fire recently and now is atop the running back standings for 2008. In the last six weeks, he has scored at least one time in each week. He already …read more

Best Fantasy Football Players in Week 13

QB Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
That injured pinkie is now a thing of the past. Tony Romo is playing very well once again and he’s taking advantage of his powerful receiving options including Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and the newly acquired Roy Williams. Expect Romo to be a top five fantasy quarterback from here on out.
RB DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
Earlier in the season, DeAngelo Williams was almost worthless due to his running back by committee situation. But he’s now thriving with the Panthers and had four touchdowns this weekend. He has to be considered a top ten fantasy running back at …read more

Week 13 Fantasy Football – Players to Avoid

QB Tyler Thigpen, Kansas City Chiefs
Although Tyler Thigpen has far and away exceeded expectations since being handed the full-time keys to the quarterback position in Kansas City, don’t fall too head over heels for his matchup this week against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders aren’t much of a team but their pass defense is surprisingly good.
RB Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints
Reggie Bush keeps saying he’s coming back any second now. Even if he’s active in Week 13, it’d be best to avoid playing him right away. The Saints have a lot of options at the running back position and Bush …read more

Week 12 Fantasy Football – Top Players

QB Matt Cassel, New England Patriots
Don’t look now but Matt Cassel is doing a very good Tom Brady imitation. He once again produced a very fine week of fantasy football stats in Week 12. He finished the game against the Miami Dolphins with 415 yards passing and three touchdowns. All three of his touchdowns were to Randy Moss.
RB Michael Turner, Atlanta Falcons
In many fantasy football drafts this year, Michael Turner was a third rounder. Those fantasy owners who drafted him have to be very happy, especially in Week 12. He finished the week with 117 yards and four touchdowns. Turner …read more

Best Fantasy Football Players in Week 11

QB Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals
Kurt Warner is the hottest quarterback in fantasy football. It seems like every week he goes out there, he’s going to put up at least 300 yards passing and two touchdowns. If you had forgotten why Warner is a two-time Super Bowl champion, he has reminded you with his recent play. As long as Warner can remain healthy, he’s going to be a fantasy football force for the rest of the 2008 season.
RB Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers
Although the St. Louis Rams showed a little bit of life a couple weeks ago, they seem to have …read more
