With just over a month left in the season, the fantasy landscape is all but settled. We are still seeing effects of some of the blockbuster deals, two-plus weeks after one of the busiest trade deadlines in years. Also, injuries and players coming off injuries are shaking up lineups and rotations across the league.
And at this point of the season, it is usually hard to improve your fantasy basketball team. However, things are not all bleak this year. There are still viable candidates that may just be worthy of a free-agent pickup and could make a difference …read more
Cavs, Bulls and Sonics Trade – Fantasy Perspective

In the biggest trade at the NBA trading deadline, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Seattle Supersonics swapped players in a three-team deal. The Cavs acquired Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West and Joe Smith, the Bulls got Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown, and the Sonics landed Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall and Adrian Griffin.
In the fantasy basketball world, this trade will make a big splash. All four of the players the Cavs received should see at least a short-term raise in their value. Wallace should start at power forward. Szczerbiak has a good chance at …read more
Waiver Wire Shooting Guards

Nate Robinson, New York Knicks
Robinson might be the shortest shooting guard in NBA history. At a listed 5-foot-9, Robinson just doesn’t have what it takes to be a point guard in the NBA. That said, he has shown enough ability at shooting guard to make him a very good prospect at that level. If Robinson gets consistent time with the Knicks or elsewhere, he’s a very solid fantasy player.
CJ Miles, Utah Jazz
Miles is a young shooting guard who is starting to blossom with the Jazz. He’s a good shooter who is also a tough defender. …read more

Travis Outlaw, Portland Trail Blazers
If he’s available on your league’s waiver wire, pick him up. Outlaw, who has always had loads of potential, has scored at least 20 points in three straight games and seems as if he’s finally starting to blossom. He’s also rebounding at a good pace while mixing in some blocks, so he’s a really nice pickup at this point.
Larry Hughes, Cleveland Cavaliers
Hughes returned from his injury to put up 22 points for the Cavs. While he’s far from a sure thing, there’s always a chance that he can return to his former status as being one …read more
Fantasy Basketball: Injury Update

Mike Bibby, Sacramento Kings
Bibby has been out all season with a thumb injury and is scheduled to be out a while longer. Bibby should get his starting job back when he returns, but newcomer Beno Udrih has been playing well in his place. There’s a chance that Bibby doesn’t play as many minutes as usual once he returns. With that in mind, his fantasy value has to take a big of a hit.
Chucky Atkins, Denver Nuggets
Atkins is out with a groin injury. When he returns, it’s unclear what role he’ll have with the team. Anthony Carter has played well as …read more
