Brandon Roy, the great second-year player on the Portland Trail Blazers, injured a groin recently that has the rest of his season in doubt. To Roy’s credit, he’s saying that his season likely isn’t over.
However, Roy is out a minimum of one week and it may actually be closer to two weeks – if he comes back at all. One would think that the Blazers wouldn’t want to risk Roy re-injuring himself. For Roy to come back, he’ll have to be 100%.
If Roy is on your fantasy team, plan to make due without him. While he may return, plan …read more

Kyle Korver, Utah Jazz
The Jazz traded for Korver and Korver has been playing pretty well for Utah. With Ronnie Brewer’s minutes getting lowered recently, Korver could conceivably find himself in the starting lineup by the end of the season. The Jazz desperately need a three-point shooter and Korver is one of the better shooters in the league.
Martell Webster, Portland Trail Blazers
Webster has played pretty well for the Blazers, however he has a lot of room to improve. When you are looking for sleepers, this is the type of guy to look for. Webster is a very good shooter, a capable …read more

Corey Brewer, Minnesota Timberwolves
Brewer has started to play well in his rookie season. He had a bad start but as of late he’s been rather good. He’s still prone to having bad games but he does so much on the court that he can help your fantasy team even if his shot isn’t falling. If he continues to adapt well to the NBA, he could become a very good fantasy basketball player in the second half of the season.
Martell Webster, Portland Trail Blazers
Webster remains a prospect you should keep your eye on. He started out great, went through a lull …read more

Martell Webster, Portland Trail Blazers
Webster has had a big preseason and looks to be close to winning the starting small forward job. Webster, who is still just 20-years-old, is extremely talented and a very good shooter. If he wins the starting gig, he could become a viable fantasy player this season.
Brandon Bass, Dallas Mavericks
Bass has had a couple big preseason games in his last two outings. The Mavericks were high enough in the summer to give him a guaranteed contract. That said, there chances aren’t great that he earns a spot in the Mavs’ rotation. However, keep an eye …read more

More preseason games, more players to observe for fantasy potential. With six games on the schedule on Wednesday, there were a lot of players to look at. Here are some young players who stood out:
Julian Wright, New Orleans Hornets
While all indications point to Wright coming off the bench for the Hornets, it’s hard to ignore what he’s doing in preseason. In Wednesday’s game against the Pacers, Wright had eight points, ten rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal in 26 minutes. So far in the preseason, Wright has 18 rebounds in 36 minutes of playing time. That’s very impressive, …read more
