Marvin Harrison Released? Fantasy Impact

Due to salary cap reasons, there is a very good possibility that Marvin Harrison will be released by the Indianapolis Colts this week. The only way to avoid this fate would be for Harrison to agree to re-work his contract, however he hasn’t been open to such an idea.
If Harrison leaves the Colts, his fantasy football value would severely dip. As it is, Harrison isn’t worth much in the fantasy football world. In 2008, Harrison had a very underwhelming campaign. At 36, it appears as if Harrison’s days as an elite receiver are over.
Reggie Wayne’s fantasy value would rise if …read more

Players to Avoid in Week 10 Fantasy Football

Players to Avoid in Week 10 Fantasy Football

QB Rex Grossman, Chicago Bears
The Bears are going up against the best defensive team in the NFL when they take on the Tennessee Titans. On top of that, a number of their top wide receivers are struggling with injuries. All told, there really isn’t a good reason to start Rex Grossman this week, who’s filling in for the injured Kyle Orton.
RB Julius Jones, Seattle Seahawks
Even though Julius Jones and the Seahawks seemingly have a decent matchup against the Miami Dolphins, don’t get suckered into starting him. Jones has slowly lost his grip on the running back job and is now …read more

Crystal Skulls and Crystal Balls – Spoilers

While crystal balls used to be the object that held special magical powers to tell the future, the powers of crystal skulls is the new rage in the supernatural world. In fantasy football, many fantasy owners will resort to any type of supernatural powers to help them win any given week.
Using my metaphoric crystal skull, here are my spoilers and predictions concerning current events in the football world. If you don’t have a crystal skull to play along with, you can always use the old school crystal ball.

Harrison has steadfastly maintained his innocence and the police in the city of Philadelphia have stated that Harrison isn’t a suspect in the incident. However, until Harrison is totally cleared, his fantasy football stock value remains at an all-time low.

Marvin Harrison Update – Agent Denial

Updating the Marvin Harrison shooting story, Harrison’s agent has come out and denied that his client is in any pending trouble.
“I’ve spoken with Marvin and I’ve spoken with his attorney, and they say the reports are erroneous,” Tom Condon, Harrison’s agent, said to ESPN. “Marvin was not involved in any shooting, and he is not the subject of this investigation.”
Indianapolis Colts’ head coach Tony Dungy didn’t have any further information.
“My phone has been ringing, too, but I don’t have any details,” said Dungy. “I really don’t have any more information than you do.”
However, despite the denial by Harrison’s agent, other …read more

Marvin Harrison Shooting – Fantasy Football Impact

According to reports, Marvin Harrison of the Indianapolis Colts is being questioned in a shooting that occurred in his hometown of Philadelphia. The shooting happened at an establishment owned by Harrison and resulted in a victim being shot in the hand. Although the victim reportedly didn’t name Harrison as the subject, ballistic tests show that Harrison’s gun was used.
Obviously, this is both surprising and damaging news for Harrison in fantasy football. Harrison has always been thought of as a low-key personality on and off the field. That he’d be a subject in a shooting is extremely …read more

2008 Fantasy Football Injury Comeback Team

Here are NFL players who were injured in 2007 who could potentially return in grand fashion for the 2008 fantasy football season.
QB Jake Delhomme, Carolina Panthers
After playing great to begin the season, Delhomme got hurt in the season’s third game against the Atlanta Falcons. Delhomme’s elbow injury eventually required surgery and he was out for the rest of the year. Although the sample size was small, his production in 2007 was great. He had eight touchdowns, one interception and a quarterback rating of more than 110. Delhomme should get a chance to start again in 2008 and could put up …read more

Week 8: Buy Low Candidates

As we head into the meat of the fantasy football season, it’s time to look at some buy low candidates that you can target in trades. These are players who should play very well in the second half of the season, even if their stats to date have been unremarkable.
QB Jason Campbell, Washington Redskins
Campbell had a tough outing against the Arizona Cardinals. Actually, he was horrible. He had less than 100 yards passing and didn’t have a touchdown. That said, he’s a guy who should have a strong second half of the season. Campbell’s schedule gets easier and the banged …read more

Week 4 Injury Updates

Cadillac Williams
Williams injured his knee in a gruesome manner and early reports are that he’s out for the rest of the season. If that is true, that’s a huge blow to not only Tampa Bay but fantasy owners who had Cadillac on their team. The Bucs will go with either Michael Pittman or Earnest Graham at running back from with Williams sidelined.
Marvin Harrison
