Dorsey is a bit of an odd prospect because he isn’t much of an offensive player. In fact, he is averaging less than seven points per game. However, Dorsey makes his name on the defensive end of the court. At 6-foot-9 and 265 pounds, Dorsey is a great rebounder and is very good at blocking shots.

While he’s a long shot at this point to be drafted in the first round, this senior out of Baltimore should get drafted in the top of the second round. NBA teams can always use defensive minded bigmen and Dorsey definitely fits that bill. He has the tools to be a Ben Wallace type player on the professional level.

He’ll obviously need to work on his offensive game, especially his free throw shooting. He’s shooting less than 40% at the free throw line, which doesn’t exactly help his draft stock. He has a couple of decent post moves but he’ll need to finish on a consistent basis to survive in the NBA.

Overall, Dorsey will be a safe pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He’ll likely be able to carve out a career for himself as an energetic defensive minded bigman off the bench for an NBA team.

With the Memphis Tigers in the 2008 National Championship game, Chris Douglas-Roberts has seen his 2008 NBA Draft stock rise and rise. Coming into the tournament, Douglas-Roberts was seen as a second round pick. Currently, the shooting 6-foot-7 guard is being projected by NBA scouts to be picked in the mid to late first round.
When looking at him, scouts have tended to let the negatives outweigh the positives. Douglas-Roberts is skinny, not very strong and his outside shot isn’t especially deadly. Many scouts have wondered whether Douglas-Roberts has the body to be an NBA player.

When looking at him, scouts have tended to let the negatives outweigh the positives. Douglas-Roberts is skinny, not very strong and his outside shot isn’t especially deadly. Many scouts have wondered whether Douglas-Roberts has the body to be an NBA player.

However, now NBA scouts are starting to believe more and more in the junior out of Detroit. In this year’s tournament, Douglas-Roberts has been great – especially at getting to the free throw line. He’s a crafty player who knows how to use his body to his advantage.

An NBA team that is looking for a pure scorer will likely take a chance on Douglas-Roberts, who is almost a lock to come out of school early. He had some inconsistent times in his stay at Memphis but now he’s coming up big when the Tigers need him the most. NBA scouts are taking note and Douglas-Roberts will be compensated with a first round pick during the 2008 NBA Draft.

And really, Rose could conceivably be the top player drafted depending on the needs of the team that ends up with the first pick. If the team has a lot of forwards but needs a point guard, Rose could hear his name called first in the 2008 NBA Draft.

What stands out when evaluating Rose is his basketball IQ. He has a natural feel for the game which is tough to find – especially in a college freshman. Rose also is an extremely impressive athlete with an improving jumper. Defensively, he has shown an ability to be a lockdown defender.

Overall, Rose is a near flawless point guard prospect who has all the marking of a superstar NBA point guard.
