Roy Williams Trade Rumors – Detroit Lions
Roy Williams of the Detroit Lions has found his way into many trade rumors since the end of the 2007 NFL season. Williams is a very talented wide receiver who some speculate may be on the move.
In 2007, Williams had 838 yards, five touchdowns and caught 64 passes. Williams missed four games due to injury. While it was a solid season, it didn’t compare to his numbers in 2006. That said, Williams played all 16 games and totaled 82 catches, 1,310 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys and Pacman Jones were finally able to be united. The Cowboys completed a trade with the Tennessee Titans to send the controversial defensive back to Dallas for a fourth round pick.
What type of fantasy football impact will this transaction make in the 2008 season? If Jones is re-instated and wins a starting job with the Cowboys, he makes the Cowboys’ defense much more valuable in the fantasy football world.

Jared Allen Traded to the Vikings
While with the Kansas City Chiefs, Jared Allen led the NFL in sacks in 2007. With 15.5 sacks, Allen was a highly disruptive player on the defensive side of the ball. However, Allen informed the Chiefs that he wouldn’t sign a long-term contract in Kansas City, so the Chiefs decided to send him to the Minnesota Vikings.
In return, the Chiefs received a package of draft picks. It currently isn’t known exactly which picks the Chiefs received, however reports indicate that the Chiefs received first, second and third rounders in the deal.

Troy Williamson traded to Jaguars – Fantasy Look

While the trade was relatively minor, Troy Williams from the Minnesota Vikings to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a draft pick is at least notable in the fantasy football world. While Williamson never came close to living up to expectations for the Vikings, he’ll get a fresh start with the Jaguars.

Rarely to trades of significance happen in the NFL. However, today’s trade deadline brought about two trades with definite fantasy impact.
Michael Bennett, who was backing up Larry Johnson in Kansas City, has been dealt to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for what is believed to be a fourth round draft pick. With the multitude of injuries that have hit Tampa Bay’s running backs, Bennett will be in the mix for a starting job with the Bucs.
