Roy Williams of the Detroit Lions has found his way into many trade rumors since the end of the 2007 NFL season. Williams is a very talented wide receiver who some speculate may be on the move.

In 2007, Williams had 838 yards, five touchdowns and caught 64 passes. Williams missed four games due to injury. While it was a solid season, it didn’t compare to his numbers in 2006. That said, Williams played all 16 games and totaled 82 catches, 1,310 yards and seven touchdowns.

It’s not believed that the Lions are openly shopping him, but the team will likely let him go if they receive an offer that they deem fair. What teams are looking to add Williams?

Basically, every team that has a hole at wide receiver has been linked to Williams. Those teams include the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles.

In Dallas, Williams would team with Terrell Owens to from a deadly one-two punch. Williams would be returning to the state he went to college (University of Texas). The Redskins watched as all their receivers struggled last year and bringing in Williams would definitely be a big upgrade. The Eagles need a big, strong wide receiver to become the team’s leading redzone target.

No matter where Williams is in 2008, he’s in line for a bounce back fantasy football season. If he stays healthy, there’s no reason why he can’t go for 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns.

While Jones has a lot of problems off of the field, on the field he’s extremely talented and a phenomenal athlete. If Jones gets an interception, he’s very capable of returning it for a touchdown.

Additionally, Jones should become the Cowboys kick and punt returner. In this role, he’s very effective. He should be good for at least one or two return touchdowns in 2008.

The Cowboys are taking a risk but the reward would be huge – in both the NFL and the fantasy football world.

In return, the Chiefs received a package of draft picks. It currently isn’t known exactly which picks the Chiefs received, however reports indicate that the Chiefs received first, second and third rounders in the deal.

With so many picks, the Chiefs will be able to restock their roster in the 2008 NFL Draft. The Chiefs now have the flexibility to add a quarterback or a wide receiver in the first round, to go along with a replacement for Allen.

As for the Vikings, they desperately needed some pass rush help. Although they’ve been amazing against the run in recent years, their pass defense has been shaky. A big reason has been an inability to get to the quarterback. Allen will help do just that.

While the Bengals have been hesitant to trade him, teams will undoubtedly line up to try to acquire his services.

Where will Chad Johnson be traded? One team that comes up a lot in discussions is the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys had a very high-powered offense in 2007 and could become even better if they got a second superstar wide receiver to put next to Terrell Owens. Johnson and Owens would form a dynamic duo that would be better than any duo in the NFL.

Another team that is said to be interested is the Oakland Raiders. Al Davis has always loved talented wide receivers and he’d likely give up a lot to try to get Johnson to Oakland. While Oakland doesn’t have a lot of stars on offense, Johnson would instantly make it better.

Speaking of Owens, the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t been the same since losing Owens to free agency. By getting Johnson, the Eagles could get the big, talented playmaker they need to take the next step.

All that said, many experts do not believe Johnson will be traded. Don’t be surprised to see Johnson back with the Bengals in 2008.

Check out this Chad Johnson video:

While the trade was relatively minor, Troy Williams from the Minnesota Vikings to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a draft pick is at least notable in the fantasy football world. While Williamson never came close to living up to expectations for the Vikings, he’ll get a fresh start with the Jaguars.

The Jaguars have yet to fully recover from Jimmy Smith’s retirement before the start of the 2006 season. While they have great size at the position, they haven’t really had a legitimate deep ball threat. Williamson can be that deep ball threat for Jacksonville.

David Garrard showed he’s a very capable NFL quarterback last year and he can throw the long ball with ease. Whether Williamson will be one of the receivers looking to catch those passes isn’t 100% certain yet. He’ll have to make the team and then even at that point, to be relevant in fantasy football, Williamson will need to win a starting spot.

While that’s a longshot at this point, Williamson has the talent and the skillset to be what the Jaguars have long been looking for in a wide receiver.

In the other trade, the San Diego Chargers acquired Chris Chambers from the Miami Dolphins for a future draft pick. The pick is reportedly a second rounder. Chambers has always shown a lot of potential and has had some very good fantasy seasons. If he can get a starting job with the Chargers, he could become a big part of that offense very quickly.

Grab Bennett off the waiver wire, if by chance he’s available, or look to make trades, as these two players could give your fantasy team a big boost.
