Pacman Jones, who now insists on the name Adam Jones, has been reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Jones had been suspended from the NFL for numerous run-ins with the law.

In terms of fantasy football, Jones makes the Dallas Cowboys defense much more dangerous. He’s a big play threat that can intercept a pass and score a touchdown at any given moment. He should help make Dallas a top five defense in the 2008 fantasy football season.

Jones is also very valuable as a kick returner. If you get kick returner points for yardage or touchdowns, Jones being reinstated is very good news. Outside of Devin Hester, few players are in Jones’ class of raw speed and ability.

Expect Pacman Jones (or Adam Jones) to make more and more of an impact in fantasy football as the season progresses. The only thing that could hold him back is if he gets in trouble with the law again.

A few interesting teams have emerged as suitors for Jones. The Dallas Cowboys are a team that not only have interest in Jones, but also have been mentioned by Jones as one of his preferred destinations. In return for Jones, the Titans would likely ask for a mid-level draft pick.

Another interesting team that supposedly would welcome Jones is the New England Patriots. The Patriots, who had success rehabilitating the career of Randy Moss, are reported to be looking into the possibility of trading for Jones. New England has lost a lost of quality defensive backs in the offseason and could view Jones as a starter in 2008.

In the fantasy football world, Jones is a player to keep an eye on if you are in an IDP league. Jones, although a bit crazy off the field, is extremely talented on the field. He’s a scoring threat on defense because once he intercepts the ball, there are few defensive backs as dangerous as Jones.

In the return game, Jones can be a factor – especially as a punt returner.
