Well, that was a fun start to the 2009 fantasy football season. In Week 1, we saw big performances by fantasy studs and a few surprises from fantasy football players that deserve some analysis. Consider picking these players up off of your fantasy football waiver wire if they are available.
QB Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens
Even though he was playing the lowly Kansas City Chiefs, Joe Flacco’s statistical line can’t be ignored. He had 307 passing yards to go with a career-high three touchdowns. He may make a good fantasy backup QB after all.

Terry Glenn Waived by the Cowboys

The drama between the Dallas Cowboys and Terry Glenn seems to have reached the end. The Cowboys on Friday decided to release Glenn after the wide receiver refused to sign an injury waiver.
While there is a chance that Glenn may return to the Cowboys if he clears waivers, those chances appear to be slim. More than likely, Glenn will try to catch on with another team or retire.

Terry Glenn Wants to Return to Cowboys

Terry Glenn recently spoke publicly about his wish to remain a player for the Dallas Cowboys. Glenn, who missed almost all of last season due to knee issues, has been barred from working out with the Cowboys due to injury concerns.
Glenn has a base salary of around $1.75M and the Cowboys want Glenn to accept a $500K buyout settlement if he re-injures his knee. Glenn hasn’t been able to pass a physical due to his knee and the Cowboys want to some protection in case he goes down again.

Terry Glenn suffered through an injury riddled 2007 NFL season that dropped him off of the fantasy football map. Even as the 2008 fantasy football season is approaching, there is little buzz surrounding Glenn and his role with the Dallas Cowboys.
The truth of the matter is that Glenn is definitely a fantasy football sleeper in 2008.
