RB Ricky Williams, Miami Dolphins
With Ronnie Brown out for the season, Ricky Williams wasted little time proving he’s a capable starter. On Thursday night, Williams had three touchdowns and gave his fantasy owners a big lead heading into the weekend.

WR Terrell Owens, Buffalo Bills
Here’s a name you’d never expect to be at this article. Terrell Owens, he has done a lot of nothing in his time in Buffalo, exploded in Week 11. He finished with nine catches for 197 yards and a touchdown. Talk about turning back the clock.

TE Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers
Vernon Davis isn’t only proving he’s for real, he’s proving that he may be the best fantasy football tight end at this point of the season. He had another big game — finishing with six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown.

RB Michael Turner, Atlanta Falcons
In many fantasy football drafts this year, Michael Turner was a third rounder. Those fantasy owners who drafted him have to be very happy, especially in Week 12. He finished the week with 117 yards and four touchdowns. Turner has official established himself as one of the best running backs in the fantasy football world.

WR Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys
Since Tony Romo broke his pinkie, Terrell Owens had been pretty quiet. But in Week 12, he exploded onto the scene. Against the San Francisco 49ers, Owens finished with seven catches for 213 yards and a touchdown. If you are an Owens owner, this was the game you have been waiting for.

TE Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City Chiefs
Tony Gonzalez is having another fantastic season. He continued that in Week 12 of the fantasy football season by catching 10 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. From now until the end of the year, it’d be impossible to bench Gonzalez. He’s just too good and although the Chiefs are struggling defensively, their offense looks surprisingly sharp.

Brad Johnson will take over for an injured Tony Romo
Tony Romo injured his pinkie during the Week 6 loss against the Arizona Cardinals. The injury is expected to sideline Romo for up to a month. While Romo is out injured, Brad Johnson will take over the reins as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
Although Romo is expected to take at least two weeks to heal, there is growing sentiment that he’ll fight through the injury. If he can withstand the pain and throw accurately, there’s a chance that he will play in Week 7. However, the more likely scenario is he’ll let [...]
Post from: Expert Fantasy

Although Romo is expected to take at least two weeks to heal, there is growing sentiment that he’ll fight through the injury. If he can withstand the pain and throw accurately, there’s a chance that he will play in Week 7. However, the more likely scenario is he’ll let the injury heal a bit.

Brad Johnson, even at age 40, should be decent enough as a starter. He’s a smart player who has a Super Bowl title on his resume. He doesn’t have great arm strength and is surely an injury risk but he should be able to keep the Cowboys above water until Romo returns.

Even though Johnson won’t hurt the Cowboys much on the field, he will likely hurt the fantasy value of the receiving targets. Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and the newly acquired Dallas Cowboy Roy Williams will not be at 100% of their fantasy potential until Romo returns.

RB Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
In Week 1, Matt Forte had a very good day running the ball against the Colts. This week, Adrian Peterson should have success against Indianapolis. He should get plenty of carries this week and will likely finish with more than 120 yards rushing and at least one touchdown.

WR Plaxico Burress, New York Giants
The Giants get to go up against the St. Louis Rams in Week 2. This is the same team that got destroyed by the Eagles in Week 1. Expect Burress to have a huge game — with a long touchdown pass being very likely.

TE Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys
The Eagles will likely spend the week trying to slow down Terrell Owens, which should open up things for Jason Witten to be dominant. Witten is quickly separating himself as the clear cut best fantasy tight end in all the land.

If you have Jason Witten on your fantasy football team, be excited.

Even though he’ll be out on the road, expect Tony Romo to have a lot of success in Week 1. He’s going against the Cleveland Browns and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if this game turned into a shootout.

Who will the top players be in 2008 fantasy football in Week 1? Here is our guess:

Quarterback – Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Even though he’ll be out on the road, expect Tony Romo to have a lot of success in Week 1. He’s going against the Cleveland Browns and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if this game turned into a shootout. Romo was very good in the beginning of last year and should start off well again.

Running Back – LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers
The Carolina Panthers aren’t the defensive juggernaut they used to be. For that reason, and the fact that he’s very good, LaDainian Tomlinson should come out of the gates on fire in 2008. If you have him on your fantasy team, start him with the highest level of confidence.

Wide Receiver – Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys
With Romo poised to have a big game in Week 1, expect many of those passes to be headed to Terrell Owens. TO will have a very good chance of getting at least one touchdown against the Browns. He’s the best receiver to have to begin the fantasy football season.

Tight End – Kellen Winslow, Cleveland Browns
On the other side of the coin, the Cowboys haven’t always been very good against tight ends. The Browns now this and will look to Winslow early and often. Winslow had a big year this year and should have an even better season in 2008.

Kicker – Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
The Patriots will probably be rusty going into the regular season. While that is bad news for most fantasy players, that is actually good news for Gostkowski. If Tom Brady and company can’t guide the ball into the end zone, they will have to ride Gostkowski to victory.

Team Defense – Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have a great matchup in Week 1 when they play the Chicago Bears in front of their home crowd. With home cooking in their favor, expect the Colts to come out amped up and ready to try to get back on the Super Back track.

1. New England Patriots – The Pats won’t be perfect but expect greatness.
2. Dallas Cowboys – Terrell Owens and Tony Romo will be a dynamic duo.
3. Indianapolis Colts – Indy has been overlooked but should still be good.
4. San Diego Chargers – Injury concerns leave the Chargers vulnerable.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars – Is there a more solid unit in the NFL?
6. Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers always seem to field a winning bunch.
7. New Orleans Saints – Expect a bounce back year — especially offensively.
8. New York Giants – Injuries have the Giants looking pedestrian.
9. Minnesota Vikings – Defense will be great. Offense is a different story.
10. Cleveland Browns – Offense should be explosive but Browns still iffy.

When it comes down to it, you should remember to have fun with fantasy football. While this game can become stressful, especially if you have money riding on whether you win or lose, you can also have fun while competing at the highest level.

One way to have fun is to draft your favorite players. If you are in a point in the draft where there are a number of good players available, there’s nothing wrong with going with the player you enjoy watching. Which players in the NFL are my favorite fantasy football players? These are the players who I enjoy watching:

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Not only is his off the field romance with Jessica Simpson interesting, Tony Romo has become a quite good fantasy quarterback. He’s a fearless leader who is always trying to score – which you got to love as a fantasy football owners.

Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys
Romo’s main target in Dallas, Terrell Owens has become a fantasy beast. If he’s on your fantasy team, you can start him with confidence each and every week. Even if he’s going against a tough defense, TO seems to always find a way.

Randy Moss, New England Patriots
Although he had a few lean seasons, Randy Moss was back at his best last season with the Patriots. Tom Brady loves looking for Moss and Moss loves looking for the endzone. Moss might be the most natural pass catcher the game has ever seen.

LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers
If you have a big fantasy football game, LaDainian Tomlinson is the running back you want on your side. Over the last half decade, Tomlinson has proven to be a great fantasy running back who is always a threat to have a big game.

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
How can you not love the second-year stud on the Vikings? Adrian Peterson burst onto the scene last year and there’s no sign that he intends to slow down. Peterson has so much potential that he may revolutionize both the NFL and fantasy football.
