Top 10 Fantasy Basketball Players – 2009-10

With the 2009-10 fantasy basketball season just around the corner, here’s a look at the top ten fantasy players at any position. When you make your selection in the first round of your fantasy basketball draft, target one of these studs.
1. Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
It’s difficult to pass on LeBron James when you have the first pick in your fantasy basketball draft, however Chris Paul is actually the better pick. He’s a basketball stud who has almost no downside.
2. LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
On talent alone, there’s no player in the NBA who can match LeBron James. If you have …read more

Top Five Hottest Fantasy Centers

1) Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix Suns
Stoudemire has been perhaps the best fantasy player in all the land recently. He’s recovered from his early season knee problems and is now back to 100%. With the Suns playing their up and down style, Stoudemire gets a ton of chances to dent the stat sheet. If you took a chance on him, you are being rewarded nicely.

2) Marcus Camby, Denver Nuggets
Camby is having a dominating fantasy season. If you have him on your team, you’ve watched as he’s single-handedly …read more

Top Five Hottest Fantasy Power Forwards

1) Kevin Garnett, Boston Celtics
Garnett has become a very balanced and efficient fantasy player as of late. He’s not doing any one thing exceptionally great but he also doesn’t hurt your fantasy team at all. He’s an all-around great player right now and he’s making his fantasy owners very happy. His scoring and rebounding should improve as the season progresses.
2) Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks
Nowitzki started the season off in a slump but has turned it all around. He’s back to being an MVP caliber player for the Mavericks. His shooting has been a little shaky recently but that slight dip …read more

Top Five Hottest Fantasy Small Forwards

1) LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
James started the year off fantastically. Then he got hurt and was relatively quiet for a while. However, now James is back healthy and is dominating the NBA once again. The Cavaliers are playing better, which should also help James put up even better stats. He should be a top five fantasy player from here on out.
2) Danny Granger, Indiana Pacers
Granger is on fire for the Pacers. He’s putting up a lot of points, rebounds, steals, three-pointers and his shooting percentages are great. He had a slump earlier in the season but that slump is now …read more

Top Five Hottest Fantasy Basketball Players

1) Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
Who else? Paul has been on fire as of late. He has been simply amazing for much of the season. He had an injury that slowed him down for a couple games but other than that, he’s been everything expected and much, much more.
2) Marcus Camby, Denver Nuggets
Camby is doing it all. When he’s not getting triple doubles, he’s pulling down boards by the dozens or swiping steals. As has always been the case, a healthy Camby is a player who can produce greatly in the fantasy world and real life.
3) Baron Davis, Golden State …read more

Five Hottest Players in Fantasy Basketball

5) Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers
Bryant has played a more team-oriented style this year and it’s working well for him and his team. The Lakers are winning and Bryant’s stats are still stellar. That said, expect him to start to shoulder more of the scoring load eventually. The increase in scoring will make him even more valuable in the fantasy world.
4) Shawn Marion, Phoenix Suns
Marion, by his standards, is having an off season. His scoring average is down and his shooting percentages are down. That said, he’s still a fantasy stud. He impacts the …read more

Top Five Fantasy Shooting Guards

1) Kobe Bryant, Las Angeles Lakers
It’s no surprise that Bryant is the number one fantasy shooting guard. He came into the season with a lot of hype and is backing it up. The good news is that he should get even better because he’s not scoring as well as he eventually will. Besides his scoring, everything else looks good.
2) Manu Ginobili, San Antonio Spurs
Ginobili has always been a good fantasy player, but this year Ginobili has been a great fantasy player. He’s doing everything and the amazing part is he’s averaging less than 30 minutes per game for the Spurs. …read more

Top Five Fantasy Small Forwards

1) LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
James is not only the best fantasy small forward, he’s the best fantasy player in the NBA this year. While he’s out with an injured finger, once he returns he shouldn’t skip a beat. If you can trade for James while he’s out injured, do so without hesitation.

2) Kevin Garnett, Boston Celtics
In some leagues, Garnett has small forward eligibility. If that’s the case in your league, he’s no doubt the second best small forward around. The scary thing about Garnett is he can play better than he’s currently playing once …read more

Top Five Fantasy Point Guards

As we close in on a month of NBA action, here’s a list of the top five fantasy point guards to have on your team:
1) Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
Paul was regarded highly in the preseason – but not this highly. He’s easily been the best point guard in fantasy basketball and it hasn’t even been close. The only thing that has slowed him down recently was an injury. As long as Paul remains healthy, he’s a stud.

2) Chauncey Billups, Detroit Pistons
Compared to last year, Billups is playing much better. His points and assists are up, as are his field …read more
