QB Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills
In two straight outing, Trent Edwards has produced at a very even level. Given his strong wide receivers and quality running backs, there’s no reason why Edwards won’t keep producing.

WR Mario Manningham and Steve Smith, New York Giants
Both of these Giants wide receivers are worthy of being on your fantasy football team. Mario Manningham is a big play receiver, while Smith is a quality possession WR. Pick them up ASAP.

RB Felix Jones, Dallas Cowboys
Not only did Felix Jones play very well in Week 2 (96 yards on only 7 carries), it appeared as if Marion Barber got hurt. If Jones is the starter, he could put up exciting fantasy football numbers.

TE Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers
After a very quiet Week 1 performance, Jermichael Finley was a bit louder in Week 2. However, he should be available on your waiver wire and if you need a sleeper tight end, roll the dice with him.

QB Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills – Edwards is coming off a big fantasy game and has another good matchup this week against the Cleveland Browns. Edwards, who had four touchdowns in Week 15, has some quality talent at his disposal including Lee Evans. With the Browns being such a poor defensive bunch, expect a couple touchdowns out of Edwards this week.

RB Darius Walker, Houston Texans – With Ron Dayne injured, the running back job for the Texans looks like it could be Walker’s. Walker, who was recently on the Texans’ practice squad, got some work last week and played decently well. With Dayne out, expect Walker to be featured this week against the Denver Broncos.

WR Michael Jenkins, Atlanta Falcons – Jenkins has had a quiet year this season, but things are looking better for him. With Chris Redman at quarterback for the Falcons, he seems to look Jenkins’ way a lot of the time. In Week 14, Jenkins finished with 9 catches and a touchdown. This week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jenkins should be good for a good amount of receptions.

TE Alex Smith, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – If you need a tight end, look at Smith. With Jeff Garcia expected back at quarterback for the Bucs and matchup against the Atlanta Falcons looming, Smith is a very nice start this week. While he’s not a threat to get a lot of receptions, he’s a very nice red zone threat for Tampa Bay. There’s a better than decent shot of Smith ending up with a touchdown this week.

Several key players went down with injuries in Sunday’s NFL action. Though the status of many of these injuries isn’t known as of yet. Be sure to keep an eye out for reports on the following players and be prepared to grab their backups off the waiver wire.

QB Matt Schaub, Houston Texans – Schaub left the game after taking a hard hit. Schaub, who has been hit hard a lot recently, entered the game at less than 100%. His latest injury is unknown but there is talk of a concussion.

QB Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills – Edwards, a rookie quarterback out of Stanford, suffered a sprained wrist in Week 8. JP Losman came in and responded with a long pass to Lee Evans. It’s unknown how long Edwards is to be sidelined.

QB Kelly Holcomb, Minnesota Vikings – Holcomb was in the game replacing the injured Tavaris Jackson. He suffered a neck injury that could sideline him for a while. Expect Brooks Bollinger to get the start next week for the Vikings.

QB Vinny Testaverde, Carolina Panthers – Testaverde left the game against the Colts with what is being reported as an Achilles injury. Since Testaverde has so much mileage on him, it’s going to be tough for him to recover from any type of injury. David Carr should become the starter now for the Panthers.

RB Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers – Gore aggravated his ankle injury in the game against the Saints. His status for Week 9 is unknown at this time. If he’s unable to go, look at Michael Robinson and Maurice Hicks as players who would replace him.

RB Steven Jackson, St. Louis Rams – Jackson was back in the Rams lineup after missing time with a groin injury. After scoring an early touchdown, Jackson injured his back and missed the rest of the game. His status heading into Week 9 is unknown.

RB Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints – Bush left late in the game with what is believed to be a minor rib injury. However, be sure to keep an eye on him because rib injuries are tough to deal with if you are an NFL running back.

For Week 8, here are some players who you can probably get off your waiver wire and confidently put in your starting lineup.
QB Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills – Edwards has gotten his feet wet as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He hasn’t had great success but he’s shown enough to be somewhat confident in his abilities. In Week 8, Edwards play the Jets and their bad defense. He hasn’t had great success but he’s shown enough to be somewhat confident in his abilities. In Week 8, Edwards play the Jets and their bad defense. Edwards is a good play this week and is likely sitting on your league’s waiver wire.

RB Chris Henry, Tennessee Titans – If you are hurting at the running back position, consider picking up and starting Henry. The Titans are facing the Raiders and should be running the ball a lot. Henry played in his first NFL game last week and looked rather good. He’s going to get a fair amount of carries backing up LenDale White and could finish with around 50 yards and a touchdown.

WR Devin Hester, Chicago Bears – Hester doesn’t get many looks at wide receiver for the Bears, as he’s mostly a return specialist these days. However, in Week 8 against the Lions, don’t be surprised to see Hester rack up the yardage. He has world class speed and could be able to run right by the Lions’ secondary. In fact, 100 yards and a touchdown wouldn’t be a surprise.

TE Eric Johnson, New Orleans Saints – Johnson is playing against the Niners this week, his former team. Johnson could have some redemption in mind against the team that let him go in the offseason. He has been getting many passes thrown his way and should have many more this week.
