Tracy McGrady Dunk Video – Tyrus Thomas

Although Tracy McGrady has been gimpy for much of the 2008-09 NBA season, he recently posterized Tyrus Thomas. You can see a video of the Tracy McGrady dunk at the end of this entry.
In the video, McGrady took the ball hard to the rim and dunked it on Thomas as he went for the block. If you’ve watched McGrady this season, you know that he hasn’t been taking the ball to the hole very much at all. He’s been relying on his perimeter jumper and as a result his field goal percentage is currently 39.2% and he’s averaging only 15.8 …read more

Vinny Del Negro New Chicago Bulls Coach – Fantasy Impact

After an exhaustive search, the Chicago Bulls have finally settled on a new head coach. Vinny Del Negro, who was most currently employed by the Phoenix Suns in their front office, will be the head coach for Chicago in the 2008-09 season.
Del Negro has never coached before but he’s respected around the NBA for having a good basketball mind. He’s also regarded as a good communicator.
In the fantasy world, this is good news for the Bulls. Coming from the Suns, one would expect Del Negro to push the tempo. As a player, Del Negro was always …read more

Doug Collins Hired By Bulls – Fantasy Impact

The Chicago Bulls ended their coaching search today by hiring Doug Collins. Collins, who is currently a color commentator for TNT, will take over the young Bulls team that underperformed last season. The Bulls looked poised to move up the Eastern Conference standings but they fell far short of expectations.
While Collins is a good coach, this is very bad fantasy news for all the players on the Bulls. Collins coaches teams to play a slow pace – which will eliminate a lot of fantasy value from the Bulls’ offense.
Collins also isn’t known to mesh well with young …read more

Should they draft Derrick Rose who could be the best point guard prospect in years? Should they draft OJ Mayo who came into the season as the top regarded player entering college basketball?
While Beasley is tempting due to his potential and how he performed in his freshman season, he’s not the answer. The Bulls already have a lot …read more

Chicago Bulls Hire Mike D’Antoni – Fantasy Impact

If the Chicago Bulls were to hire Mike D’Antoni as their head coach, how would that affect the fantasy basketball world? The short answer is that wherever D’Antoni ends up, expect the players on his new team to become very good fantasy basketball players.

While D’Antoni’s days with the Phoenix Suns appear to be numbered, there are a number of teams that are interested in him. The team that reportedly has the most interest is the Bulls, however the New York Knicks are also said to be interested.
With the Suns, D’Antoni had a very successful run. Not only …read more

Nene, Denver Nuggets
Nene is returning from injury and has played well in his time back with the Nuggets. Always a huge talent, Nene used his time away to get into better shape. Although he has a lot of competition from quality bigs such as Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby, Nene should be able to carve out a niche for himself in Denver.
Tyrus Thomas, Chicago Bulls
Thomas is a player who looks great one night and then disappears for a couple of weeks. For a fantasy team, that is very dangerous. But with a new coach in Chicago, Thomas might get a …read more
