The eleventh week of the 2009 fantasy football season, we saw a lot of craziness. Big games from nobodies, rejects and has-beens were prevalent. Here’s a look at the fantasy football studs of the week:
QB Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
Starting a rookie QB is usually a bad idea. Starting the rookie quarterback of the Lions is usually suicide. But in Week 11, Matthew Stafford was amazing. He had 422 yards passing and five touchdowns. That’s impressive, even if it came against the Browns.
RB Ricky Williams, Miami Dolphins
With Ronnie Brown out for the season, Ricky Williams wasted little time proving he’s a …read more

Due to injury and impressive play, there are a number of players that make up the Week 4 waiver wire hot list. If your fantasy football team needs some help, look on your fantasy waiver wire to find these players to add to your team by Week 4.
QB Kyle Boller, St. Louis Rams
Marc Bulger got injured in the first quarter of the Rams Week 3 game. If Bulger is going to miss time, Kyle Boller could be a competent fantasy quarterback that you can get from off the waiver wire.
WR Pierre Garcon, Indianapolis Colts
Pierre Garcon looks like the real deal. …read more

If you want to swing for the fences in Week 3 of the 2009 fantasy football season, here are some sneaky starts. These players could boom or bust — but what fun is it if you don’t give it a try?
QB Byron Leftwich, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Although not exactly thought of as a quality fantasy football starter, Leftwich has a lot going for him this week. He’s playing at home against a banged up New York Giants defense and he’s coming off of a big week. Roll the dice if you are feeling lucky.
RB Chris Wells, Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are going …read more

As we head into Week 4 of the 2008 fantasy football season, which fantasy football stars are off to a slow start? Here’s a list of struggling stars:
QB Derek Anderson, Cleveland Browns
After a great fantasy season in 2007, big things were expected of Derek Anderson this year. So far, he has been a huge disappointment. He has only two touchdown passes compared to five interceptions. He also hasn’t passed for more than 166 yards in a game this season so far. If he doesn’t improve quickly, expect Brady Quinn to make an appearance before too long.
RB Steven Jackson, St. Louis …read more

If you are setting your fantasy football rosters, here are some players you should definitely avoid starting:
Quarterbacks – Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle Seahawks
With so many injuries at wide receiver, it may be best to give Hasselbeck the week off until he adjusts to his new options.
Running Backs – Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders
While Darren McFadden will likely have a very good season, he’s playing behind Justin Fargas for the moment.
Wide Receivers – Anthony Gonzalez, Indianapolis Colts
Last season Anthony Gonzalez was very good at the end of the year. However, now with Marvin Harrison back in the fold, things may change.

Tight end used to be a depleted position in fantasy football. Each year, there seemed to be only a couple quality tight ends. However, this year is different. There are about 15 legitimate tight end prospects, who could all conceivably have big seasons in 2008.
Here is our ranking of the top ten tight ends:
1. Antonio Gates – Gates remains the best tight end in the game.
2. Jason Witten – Great offense and huge potential in 2008.
3. Kellen Winslow – Amazing potential despite character concerns.
4. Tony Gonzalez – Old pro still bringing the stats.
5. Dallas Clark – If …read more
Week 13: Emergency Starters

QB Kellen Clemens, New York Jets – Clemens hasn’t looked too good so far in his short NFL career as a starting quarterback, but this week he has hope. Enter the winless Miami Dolphins. Although the Dolphins have actually played decent defense as of late, Clemens should have plenty of chances to come up with big plays. He has a very strong arm and the Jets should be able to move the ball. If you are need of a quarterback to start, look for Clemens as a pickup and play option.
