You’re short on running back, your starting wide receivers no longer start for their NFL teams or your dog ate your fantasy football strategy guide. No worries, here are some players that you should be able to pick up off the waiver wire scrap heap and plug in for production right away in Week 11.

QB Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
Vince Young doesn’t get much respect in the fantasy world. Fantasy owners don’t like his style of play or his relatively low ceiling. But this week, Young is a quality start. He’s in his hometown of Houston and his Titans are hot. Expect him to produce at a high level.

RB Mike Bell, New Orleans Saints
In recent weeks, Mike Bell has been quiet. But an easy matchup against the Buccaneers is juicy. Add in the fact that Reggie Bush will miss the game and Bell should at least provide you with one rushing touchdown.

WR Mohamed Massaquoi, Cleveland Browns
Remember him? After a huge week earlier in the season, Mohamed Massaquoi has all but disappeared in the swamp that is supposedly the offensive unit for the Browns. But going against the Lions, the team’s top wide receiver has to do something … right?

TE David Thomas, New Orleans Saints
No, not the Wendy’s guy. This David Thomas is the other tight end on the Saints. Last week he had five catches and could see another handful of catches this week because — well the Bucs are horrible.

The contract Collins signed is for two years and has approximately $8.5 million in guaranteed money. Although he doesn’t have a high ceiling as a fantasy football quarterback, this move definitely has some fantasy impact.

First of all, Young’s stock drops even further. If Collins would have signed elsewhere, Young would have had a chance to possibly start for the Titans. Now with Collins back in the fold, Young will likely be the backup once again.

As for Collins’ fantasy value, at its highest he may be a decent backup fantasy quarterback. The Titans love to run the ball so much that Collins doesn’t get many opportunities through the air. On top of that, Collins is aging and his wide receiving corps is rather weak.

Chris Johnson and LenDale White both see their fantasy stock rise a little bit with this move. With Collins at quarterback, those two running backs should be able to produce like they did last season. Even though Collins isn’t a prolific passer, he’s good at keeping defenses honest.

QUARTERBACKS
Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
Kerry Collins will start in place of Vince Young, who is expected to miss up to a month with a knee injury.

RUNNING BACK
LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers
Although he’s being listed as questionable, many expect LaDainian Tomlinson to play in Week 2. He has a toe injury but should be able to tough it out.

Ryan Grant, Green Bay Packers
Ryan Grant has been listed as questionable for most of the week. He was able to practice on Friday so expect him to play.

Marion Barber III, Dallas Cowboys
After injuring his ribs in Week 1, many fantasy owners worried about Barber’s future. Thankfully it appears he’ll play in Week 2.

WIDE RECEIVERS
Donte Stallworth, Cleveland Browns
In Week 1, Donte Stallworth was a late scratch. This week he’s listed as doubtful and isn’t expected to play.

Jerry Porter, Jacksonville Jaguars
Although he’s been able to practice at various points this week, don’t expect Jerry Porter to play in Week 2. He’ll play soon, though.

Laveranues Coles, New York Jets
Throughout the week, Laveranues Coles hasn’t been able to complete a full practice. He’s questionable to play in Week 2.

Javon Walker, Oakland Raiders
He didn’t play in Week 1 but expect Javon Walker to put on his Raiders jersey and play in Week 2.

Reggie Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
Like Walker, Reggie Brown didn’t play in Week 1. He’s being listed as questionable for Week 2 and should be a game time decision.

TIGHT ENDS
Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts
Early in the Week 1 game, Dallas Clark went down with an injury. He’s being listed as questionable and it’s probably 50/50 that he plays in Week 2.

KICKERS
Jason Elam, Atlanta Falcons
Heading into Week 2, Jason Elam is listed as questionable. Look elsewhere for a kicker for this week.

Need to fill a starting spot on your fantasy football roster? Check out these waiver wire gems that you can put into your Week 2 lineup.

QB Kerry Collins, Tennessee Titans
With Vince Young injured, Kerry Collins will step in as quarterback for the Titans. Collins has a great matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and could be in line for a big day.

RB Sammy Morris, New England Patriots
Tom Brady won’t be there to pass around the football for the Patriots, which could lead to more runs for Sammy Morris. He had a good Week 1 and should follow that up with a solid Week 2.

WR Eddie Royal, Denver Broncos
In the first game of his NFL career, Eddie Royal looked like a future great player. Jay Cutler looked for him repeatedly and Royal didn’t disappoint. Start Royal with confidence until he shows otherwise.

TE John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks
With Seattle’s top four wide receivers injured (Deion Branch, Bobby Engram, Nate Burleson and Ben Obomanu), look for John Carlson to get a lot of looks in Week 2. He’s arguably the most talented receiver left on the Seahawks roster.

K John Carney, New York Giants
Even though John Carney is up in age and even though he’s not the full-time kicker for the Giants, he’s a very good start this week. Against the Rams, Carney should get two or three field goals at minimum.

D Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals defense looked extremely strong in Week 1. Feel free to start them again this week against Miami Dolphins.

Young reportedly thought about retiring because the game no longer was fun and he was struggling from injury. However, Young now says that he no longer plans to retire prematurely.

Young was in the news recently for photos that made their way to the internet. In the photos, Young appeared topless and possibly drunk. A few days later, Young apologized for the photos.

All this Vince Young news can’t make fantasy owners too excited about his 2008 fantasy football season. Young was a poor fantasy quarterback in 2007 and his busy offseason hasn’t done much to end fears that 2008 could be another poor year for Young.

Right now, it appears that Young is a backup fantasy football quarterback in 2008. He’s a high-risk, high-reward type player at the moment.

Although Young apologized, he also said that he won’t stop having fun in the offseason. While that is certainly understandable, it doesn’t ease the concern that fantasy football owners and the Tennessee Titans have about the young quarterback.

Young is immensely talented but he also has a lot of work to do to improve enough to be a solid quarterback in the NFL. His instincts are great and by all accounts he is a great leader, but his mechanics and ability to read the field need work. Whether he’s putting in the required time sharpening his football skills in the offseason is something only he knows for sure.

For now, Young’s fantasy football stock is a little bit lower than it was a couple months ago, however he still remains someone of a sleeper in 2008 at the quarterback position.

Using my metaphoric crystal skull, here are my spoilers and predictions concerning current events in the football world. If you don’t have a crystal skull to play along with, you can always use the old school crystal ball.

1. Marvin Harrison will have a bounce back season. Although Marvin Harrison is currently in legal trouble, I see Harrison being cleared of all wrongdoing. He’ll enter the 2008 fantasy football season as somewhat of a sleeper and wills surprise.

2. Vince Young will be a top ten fantasy quarterback. He looked really bad in his second season and stories about a drunk Vince Young don’t exactly make Tennessee Titans coaches or fans feel good, but Young will bounce back. He’s too talented and he’s too much of a natural winner to not figure things out.

3. Michael Strahan won’t retire. There’s talk about Michael Strahan retiring but it’s just too difficult to imagine him walking away from a Super Bowl team. Expect the New York Giants to give him a pay raise and for him to stick around.

4. Darren McFadden will easily become the best player from the 2008 NFL Draft. McFadden will make the Oakland Raiders look smart. He’ll have a nice rookie season but will really blossom in years two and three.

5. The New England Patriots will win the 2008 Super Bowl. With Spygate all but over and the bitter taste of defeat in their mouth, the Patriots will come back stronger and finish the deal in 2008.

Matt Leinart’s party pictures got him in some trouble with his team. Will these Vince Young pictures get the Titans’ star quarterback in trouble? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Surely, the Titans coaches can’t be excited by what they see.

This may or may not make you think twice about picking Vince Young to quarterback your fantasy football team in 2008.

David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars
All season long, David Garrard proved himself as a heady quarterback who doesn’t make mistakes. Late in the season, he proved that he could produce through the air when needed. Heading into 2008, Garrard looks like he should be a solid fantasy quarterback option.

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
After a rocky season, Philip Rivers showed great courage in the playoffs by playing with a severe injury and likely gained the respect of his teammates. With an improving receiving corps, Rivers could breakout in 2008 for a big year.

Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
Vince Young’s disaster of a season in 2007 will likely scare off most fantasy owners. However, with a new offensive coordinator coming in and wide receivers who are maturing quickly, Young should be much improved in 2008.

Jeff Garcia, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Age and lack of offensive weapons will likely cause Jeff Garcia’s stock to plummet. But as long as he remains the starter, Garcia should have a quality season. He’s smart and he’s consistent. In a backup role in fantasy football, he’d be a perfect fit.
