With thousands of fantasy football drafts taking place each day, we are starting to see a number of fantasy players whose stocks are rising as the season nears. Here’s a look at fantasy football risers you may want to draft before it is too late.

QB Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears
At first, fantasy football owners were a bit skeptical about how well Jay Cutler would do on the Bears. Now, judging by where he’s being drafted, they are believers.

RB Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders
Not long ago, Darren McFadden was a fifth round pick. Now, the Raiders RB is a third round pick in many drafts.

WR Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers
Slowly but surely, fantasy football drafts are seeing Vincent Jackson gain respect. Nowadays, he’s almost a lock to go in the fifth round.

TE Greg Olsen, Chicago Bears
With Cutler throwing the passes and Greg Olsen grabbing a starting gig, fantasy football owners are very high on the Bears tight end.

Hottest Fantasy Wide Receivers 2008

Antonio Bryant, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last season, Antonio Bryant didn’t even play in the NFL. This season, he’s one of the game’s best wide receivers. In fantasy football, no wide receiver has been better as of late. He has five touchdowns in the last four weeks and three games of over 100 yards receiving. In one of those games, he had over 200 yards receiving.

Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers
Although he wasn’t great in Week 16 against the New York Giants, Steve Smith has been very productive as of late. In Week 14 and Week 15, he had nine receptions, 100+ yards and a touchdown in each game. Overall, he has four games of 100+ receiving yards in his last five.

Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers
After going without a catch in Week 13, Vincent Jackson has rewarded those fantasy football owners who stuck with him. In the last three weeks, Jackson has 18 catches, two touchdowns and 348 receiving yards.

Wes Welker, New England Patriots
Although Randy Moss is the better receiver, Wes Welker has been very consistent and very productive as of late. He has a touchdown in each of his last two games. In the previous game, he had 12 catches for 134 yards.

Underrated Fantasy Wide Receivers for 2008

Lee Evans, Buffalo Bills
For the most part, Lee Evans had a horrible 2007 campaign. If you picked him in your fantasy football league, you probably ended up hating the pick. That said, it 2008 Evans should be a solid wide receiver who could fall in the draft.

Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers
Although Vincent Jackson was disappointing in 2007, he appears ready to break out. In the playoffs, he had a number of great catches. Look for him to continue that play in 2008 and become a legitimate fantasy football receiver.

Donte Stallworth, New England Patriots
If Randy Moss leaves the Patriots, Donte Stallworth could have a huge season next year. He’d become Tom Brady’s favorite deep ball threat and would see many more passes than he did this season. Keep a close eye on Moss over the offseason and target Stallworth if Moss leaves.

Santana Moss, Washington Redskins
Santana Moss didn’t do much in 2007 until late in the season. In 2008, if he can remain healthy he could become a solid option in fantasy football again. He will always be an explosive player who is capable of a big game every week.
