QB Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Throughout the season, Philip Rivers has been a dependable fantasy football quarterback. In Week 16, he was very good once again. He finished the game with four touchdown passes to go along with 287 passing yards. On the season, Rivers now has more than 3800 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns.

RB DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
It’s hard to call DeAngelo Williams anything other than a fantasy football phenom. Against a tough New York Giants defense, Williams had four rushing touchdowns and more than 100 yards. On the season, Williams has more than 1300 yards and 18 touchdowns.

WR Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
Although he’s had a disappointing season on the whole, Marques Colston came up big in Week 16 of the fantasy football season. He finished the game against the Detroit Lions with two touchdowns, 99 receiving yards and nine catches. The nine receptions were a season-high and he doubled his touchdown total on the season with those two TDs.

TE Visanthe Shiancoe, Minnesota Vikings
If you started Vishanthe Shiacoe, you are one happy fantasy football owner. The Vikings’ tight end had two touchdowns, 136 receiving yards and seven receptions. With this huge game, Shiancoe has officially elevated himself to stud status on the tight end market.

Overrated Players – Fantasy Week 16

QB Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals
Although Kurt Warner has been a lot better than expected during the 2008 fantasy football season, he hasn’t been overly productive in the fantasy football world as of late. In his last five games, he has one touchdown pass in four of those contests. In Week 16 against the New England Patriots, Warner could very well struggle.

RB Brandon Jacobs, New York Giants
There are a lot of reasons to be wary of Brandon Jacobs this week. First of all, he’s coming off of an injury and there’s no telling how healthy he really is. Secondly, the Giants are facing the Carolina Panthers this week. Last but not least, Jacobs doesn’t have a 100+ yard outing since Week 10.

WR Laveranues Coles, New York Jets
Laveranues Coles has had a relatively good fantasy football season, but he simply hasn’t been consistent enough to trust as of late. In two our of his last three games, he has less than ten yards receiving. He also only has one touchdown in his last seven games. Even this week’s solid matchup against the Seattle Seahawks doesn’t make him a very good start.

TE Chris Cooley, Washington Redskins
Even though he’s a well known player, Chris Cooley isn’t giving fantasy owners much reason to believe in him. During the entire 2008 NFL season, Cooley has only one touchdown grab. Last week against a bad Cincinnati Bengals defense, the Redskins managed only 13 points. Going against a tough Philadelphia Eagles defense this week, it’d be best to look elsewhere for tight end production.

Week 16 Fantasy Football Sleepers

QB Shaun Hill, San Francisco 49ers
Not only is Shaun Hill playing good football at the moment, his Week 16 matchup against the St. Louis Rams is golden. If you need a fantasy football quarterback for this week and Hill is available on the waiver wire, pick him up and start him without hesitation.

RB Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals
Last week, Benson had 152 total yards against the Washington Redskins. In Week 16, he gets to play the porous defense of the Cleveland Browns. Benson is starting to reach his potential and is a relatively safe fantasy football start this week.

WR Devin Hester, Chicago Bears
In the last four weeks, Devin Hester is starting to look like a legit fantasy football wide receiver. He has at least three catches and at least 45 receiving yards in each contest. This week against the Green Bay Packers, he should continue his production.

TE Jeremy Shockey, New Orleans Saints
Although Jeremy Shockey is coming off of a quiet week, he’s a good start in Week 16 of the fantasy football season. The main reason why he’s a sleeper is that he’s going against the Detroit Lions. There’s a definite chance that Drew Brees will find Shockey in the end zone for his first touchdown of the season.

Week 16 Waiver Wire Gems

QB Dan Orlovsky, Detroit Lions
Although the Lions are a horrible team, Dan Orlovsky is actually a decent play in Week 15. Going up against the New Orleans Saints, Orlovsky could very well finish with a pair of touchdown passes to go along with decent yardage.

RB DeShaun Foster, San Francisco 49ers
Filling in for the injured Frank Gore in Week 15, DeShaun Foster put up more than 100 combined yards against the Miami Dolphins. If Gore misses another week, Foster should have an even better game this week against the St. Louis Rams.

WR Deion Branch, Seattle Seahawks
After two straight quality games, it’s safe to start trusting Deion Branch. He followed up a two touchdown game in Week 14 with five catches for 76 yards in Week 16. Although his matchup this week against the New York Jets isn’t great, he’s still a good emergency starter.

TE Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders
Although the Oakland Raiders offense is very bad, Zach Miller is their best offensive player at the moment. He has three straight games with at least five catches and six straight games of at least 40 yards. Miller should have a solid week in fantasy football in Week 15 against the Houston Texans.
