I love all sports, but particularly the NFL and NBA … which led me to fantasy sports.

I love all sports, but particularly the NFL and NBA … which led me to fantasy sports.

A few years back, I wanted to quit playing fantasy sports all together because I was so obsessed. I had 10 fantasy football teams – TEN! Crazy, right?

Well now that I’ve scaled it back to reasonable proportions, I am really loving it again. I’m sure you are too!

Here are the top five reasons that I love fantasy football.

The Preparation
I love to study in every aspect of my life. That’s why there’s no real offseason in fantasy football season to me. After the Super Bowl, you start your prep for next year. Scouring the past season’s stats, analyzing the players entering the NFL draft and all the other preparation it takes to become a fantasy football expert.

The Trades
I love trading. When fantasy basketball season started in late October, I made five trades on draft night. Constantly trying to upgrade throughout the season is the key to success.

The Decision Making
Each week you have to weigh your options and make a decision who to start and who to bench. Sometimes your decisions backfire, but the strategy and decision making is thrilling.

The Competition
Don’t you just love beating that one jackass in your fantasy football league who talked smack about your 5th round pick on draft day?!

The Money
Let’s get real. It’s not all about bragging rights. We all want to win a little dough too. Whether you are playing in a $10 buy-in league or a $1,000 buy-in league, it’s sweet to take home the championship and the cash.

So how about you? Why do you play this game?
