When it comes to abilities, Larry Fitzgerald is one of the top two or three wide receivers in the NFL. If Kurt Warner stays healthy, watch out.

4. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
If the Lions can be halfway decent this year, Calvin Johnson has the tools to be a fantasy football force.

5. Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers
Steve Smith has been a little banged up in training camp but he’s a player who you can count on to produce when he’s on the field.

However, despite his need for the surgery to put a screw in his foot, Crabtree will run the 40-yard dash. His time in the event is very important to NFL teams. If he can run a very good time, he should hold onto his strong spot in the 2009 NFL Draft.

In fact, we currently have Crabtree ranked first in our 2009 NFL Draft wide receiver rankings. Even if Crabtree runs a disappointing time and goes through with his surgery, it’s extremely unlikely that he’ll drop out of the top five wide receivers in the draft.

Overall, Crabtree fantasy football stock has to drop due to this news. Even though he should be 100% by the time the NFL season begins, NFL teams and fantasy owners will worry about his foot until he proves otherwise.

2. Hines Ward, Pittsburgh Steelers
If you want a solid wide receiver who will thrive in the physical matchup between the Steelers and Ravens, look no further than Hines Ward. He’ll find a way to haul in some catches and make plays. When Ben Roethlisberger gets in trouble, Ward is the player he looks to pass it to.

3. Anquan Boldin, Arizona Cardinals
Sure, Anquan Boldin is injured. He missed last week’s game and though he’ll play this week in all likelihood, it’s easy to worry about his production. But he’s so talented and his potential every week is so high that he’s worth rolling the dice on.

4. Derrick Mason, Baltimore Ravens
If the Ravens are going to move the ball through the air at all, it’ll be due to Derrick Mason having a big game. He’s an underrated talent at the wide receiver position and he has enough experience in big games to trust that he’ll come through this weekend.

5. DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
Although he’s a rookie, there’s no question that DeSean Jackson is both the Eagles’ most talented and most explosive wide receiving option. With a very good matchup against the Cardinals, Jackson could very well end the week as the talk of the NFL and make owners happy in playoff fantasy football.
