Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies
It didn’t take Mike Conley long to beat out Damon Stoudamire for the starting point guard spot in Memphis. This kid is quick and has a great feel for the game. He has all the tools – both mentally and physically – to eventually become a very good point guard.
Acie Law, Atlanta Hawks
While Acie Law hasn’t been overly impressive this season, the Hawks drafted him to be their point guard of the future. Expect him to get a chance in the second half of the NBA season to play point guard full time. He’s a smart player, he just has to catch up speed-wise to the NBA.
Aaron Brooks, Houston Rockets
Speed is one thing Aaron Brooks doesn’t lack. He’s a fearless competitor who has a big heard despite his small stature. While his minutes have been sporadic of late, he’s arguably the most talented point guard on the roster and could start at some point.
Javaris Crittenton, Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies liked Crittenton enough to give up Pau Gasol. That should tell you something about his potential. While he has Conley and even Kyle Lowry ahead of him in the rotation, he’ll get a look and could even get some time at shooting guard.
