However, fantasy owners shouldn’t touch Galloway with a ten-foot goalpost. At best, he’ll be the team’s fourth WR behind Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Mike Wallace.

If you need further proof that Galloway doesn’t belong in fantasy football discussions, look at what he did for the New England Patriots earlier in the season. He was brought in by the Patriots and got a legit shot … but massively failed — to the point that New England cut him.

As for Sweed, the young wide receiver is struggling to live up to his potential. He had only one catch on the season and team insiders are pessimistic concerning his long-term future with the Steelers.

6. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
Look for Brady to try to quiet the whispers about Randy Moss.

7. Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles
The Niners don’t defend well on the road. McNabb should shine.

8. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Rivers is playing really well and so are his receivers.

9. Jason Campbell, Washington Redskins
With Campbell on fire and the Giants cold, he’s a sleeper.

10. Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle Seahawks
Hasselbeck is healthier and is playing the dormant Bucs.

RB Marion Barber III, Dallas Cowboys
Marion Barber hasn’t played well as of late, he has a lot of competition at the running back position on the Cowboys and Dallas is going against the Saints. All of that combines to make him a shaky start.

WR Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
Dwayne Bowe could be a good start next week … but this week it’s best to look elsewhere. He’s coming off of a four-game suspension and there’s no guarantee that he’ll be a big part of the gameplan.

TE Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are traveling to New York to face the fierce Jets defense. If Matt Ryan isn’t back, Tony Gonzalez may have a tough go of it this weekend.

Their star wide receiver was forced to leave the game with a sprained right knee in the third quarter.

Thankfully for the Cardinals, Fitzgerald and his fantasy owners, he was able to return to the game. Although he didn’t catch another pass and finished with just 22 receiving yards on the game, the fact that he was able to get back on the field likely means that he avoided serious injury.

Next week, the Cardinals face the Detroit Lions so if Fitzgerald is banged up at all, Arizona may opt to sit him. For fantasy football purposes, that would raise the value of Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston. If Fitzgerald is able to play, expect him to have a big game against Detroit’s shaky defense.

In the fantasy football world, this news shouldn’t have much affect on your lineup. Sanchez isn’t consistent enough to be a fantasy football starter and Clemens won’t be any better. From this point forward, avoid starting a Jets QB and you’ll be better off.

On the season, Sanchez has 11 touchdowns, 17 interceptions and quarterback rating of 63.7. Clemens in his career has 5 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a QB rating of 59.2. Stay far, far away.

Obviously, it’s time to waive him if he’s on your fantasy team. His usual backup, Ladell Betts, is also out for the season due to a knee injury. That leaves Rock Cartwright and Quinton Ganther as the team’s two healthy running backs.

Cartwright is currently the starter but don’t overlook Ganther. Last week against the New Orleans Saints he led the team in rushing. The Redskins may take a closer look at the 25-year-old since their playoff hopes are toast.

In dynasty fantasy football, it should be noted that Portis has started to talk retirement. If he struggles to return from his concussion, don’t be surprised if Portis decides to hang it up. Even though he’s only 28, he has taken a beating and his best days are almost definitely behind him.

In a surprising twist, Ben Roethlisberger will sit out Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens due to a concussion. Since he had practiced all week and since he has the reputation of being a player who will play with injures, most thought that Big Ben would suit up.

Instead, Dennis Dixon will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The backup in Pittsburgh is Charlie Batch — but he too is injured. That leaves the job to Dixon, who has only thrown one pass in his NFL career.

Dixon is best known for his years at Oregon, where the athletic 6-foot-3 quarterback found himself in the Heisman talk a number of times. But right now, that Heisman talk is a long ways away. Instead, he faces a stout Ravens defense on the road in the middle of a ferocious playoff race. Good luck, Dennis.

For fantasy football purposes, stay far, far away from Dixon. He’s in an extremely tough situation. If he throws for more than one TD or gets more than 200 yards passing, I’d be shocked. He’s likely to have a very rough outing that could hurt your fantasy team more than help.

Last week, Ladell Betts was the starter. However, after suffering a major knee injury early in the game against the Dallas Cowboys, Cartwright was handed the rock. He responded with 67 yards on 13 carries and 73 receiving yards on seven catches.

Eventually, Clinton Portis is expected to get the starting job back. Portis is currently sidelined following a concussion. In the meantime, Cartwright is a solid start. He’s short but he’s powerful and after playing well in his first extended action, Washington’s coaches likely have confidence in him.

If you need a fantasy football starter at running back for Week 12, starting Cartwright against the Philadelphia Eagles should give you some production. And if Portis has a setback, Cartwright could be a quality fantasy RB for the duration of the season.

The eleventh week of the 2009 fantasy football season, we saw a lot of craziness. Big games from nobodies, rejects and has-beens were prevalent. Here’s a look at the fantasy football studs of the week:

Starting a rookie QB is usually a bad idea. Starting the rookie quarterback of the Lions is usually suicide. But in Week 11, Matthew Stafford was amazing. He had 422 yards passing and five touchdowns. That’s impressive, even if it came against the Browns.

RB Ricky Williams, Miami Dolphins
With Ronnie Brown out for the season, Ricky Williams wasted little time proving he’s a capable starter. On Thursday night, Williams had three touchdowns and gave his fantasy owners a big lead heading into the weekend.

WR Terrell Owens, Buffalo Bills
Here’s a name you’d never expect to be at this article. Terrell Owens, he has done a lot of nothing in his time in Buffalo, exploded in Week 11. He finished with nine catches for 197 yards and a touchdown. Talk about turning back the clock.

TE Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers
Vernon Davis isn’t only proving he’s for real, he’s proving that he may be the best fantasy football tight end at this point of the season. He had another big game — finishing with six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown.

You’re short on running back, your starting wide receivers no longer start for their NFL teams or your dog ate your fantasy football strategy guide. No worries, here are some players that you should be able to pick up off the waiver wire scrap heap and plug in for production right away in Week 11.

You’re short on running back, your starting wide receivers no longer start for their NFL teams or your dog ate your fantasy football strategy guide. No worries, here are some players that you should be able to pick up off the waiver wire scrap heap and plug in for production right away in Week 11.

QB Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
Vince Young doesn’t get much respect in the fantasy world. Fantasy owners don’t like his style of play or his relatively low ceiling. But this week, Young is a quality start. He’s in his hometown of Houston and his Titans are hot. Expect him to produce at a high level.

RB Mike Bell, New Orleans Saints
In recent weeks, Mike Bell has been quiet. But an easy matchup against the Buccaneers is juicy. Add in the fact that Reggie Bush will miss the game and Bell should at least provide you with one rushing touchdown.

WR Mohamed Massaquoi, Cleveland Browns
Remember him? After a huge week earlier in the season, Mohamed Massaquoi has all but disappeared in the swamp that is supposedly the offensive unit for the Browns. But going against the Lions, the team’s top wide receiver has to do something … right?

TE David Thomas, New Orleans Saints
No, not the Wendy’s guy. This David Thomas is the other tight end on the Saints. Last week he had five catches and could see another handful of catches this week because — well the Bucs are horrible.
