Hottest NBA Rookies - Fantasy Basketball

OJ Mayo, Memphis Grizzlies
He’s quietly been one of the most consistent scorers to come into the league in a long while. Although OJ Mayo still needs to work on his all-around game, he’s far ahead of where most scouts thought he’d be at this point in the season.

Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls
Though Derrick Rose’s play has dropped off a little bit as of late, you can expect him to catch a second wind at some point. Once he fights through the rookie wall, Rose should once again claim his spot as the best rookie point guard in the league and fight for the Rookie of the Year award.
Eric Gordon, Los Angeles Clippers
Lately, with half the Clippers roster out due to some form of injury or suspension, Eric Gordon has been scoring the ball very well. Over his last five games, he’s averaging more than 21 points per game while shooting very good percentages from the field, from three and from the line.
Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder
Early on in the season, Russell Westbrook wasn’t very good offensively. As of late, however, he’s started to turn it around. He looks much more comfortable both looking for his own shots and running the show as Oklahoma City’s point guard.

LeBron James Commercial - Video - Singing “Time After Time”

This soon to be released NBA commercial is hilarious. The commercial features LeBron James singing “Time After Time”. The video of the commercial with LeBron singing can be found at the end of this entry.
For fantasy basketball owners, LeBron James singing the Cyndi Lauper classic “Time After Time” is definitely apropos. If you have LeBron on your fantasy basketball team, you can count on him — time after time — to come through for your squad. This season, LeBron is averaging a career low in minutes but his production is still very good. Best of all, he’s shooting at a career-best percentage from the floor and from the free throw line.
Here is the video of the LeBron James commercial with LeBron singing “Time After Time”:
December Waiver Wire Gems - Fantasy Basketball

Boris Diaw, Charlotte Bobcats
Chances are Boris Diaw is long gone in your fantasy basketball league, but if he’s out there, stop what you are doing and go pick him up. He’s starting and getting plenty of minutes since he was traded to the Bobcats. Diaw has also been very involved in the offense and is now a good fantasy basketball option.
Marreese Speights, Philadelphia 76ers
With news that Elton Brand will miss a month of action due to a shoulder injury, Marreese Speights now has fantasy value. He’s been one of the best rookies in the league as far as per minute numbers. If he gets the starting job or even if his minutes rise from off the bench, he could be a valuable fantasy piece.
Marco Belinelli, Golden State Warriors
Don Nelson’s flavor of the month is currently Marco Belinelli. Belinelli is starting for the Warriors and he’s putting up good scoring numbers. He’s also been handling the ball a bit so he has a chance to put up decent assist numbers.
Nenad Krstic, Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder recently signed Nenad Krstic to an offersheet. Krstic, who had been playing overseason, would likely step right into the Thunder’s starting lineup if the Nets decline to match the offersheet. As a starter, Krstic could be a very important piece for the Thunder and a viable fantasy option.

Week 2 Top Fantasy Football Players
September 15, 2008 by admin

QB Jay Cutler, Denver Broncos
In the thrilling game against the San Diego Chargers, Jay Cutler authored arguably the best fantasy football quarterback performance of Week 2. He finished the game with four passing touchdowns and 350 yards passing.
RB Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders
Early in Oakland’s game, starting running back Just Fargas went down with what appeared to be a groin injury. Darren McFadden stepped in and showed his vast potential on his way to 164 yards and a touchdown.
WR Anquan Boldin, Arizona Cardinals
After a quiet Week 1 game, Anquan Boldin exploded in Week 2. Kurt Warner looked for him early and often and Boldin finished with 140 yards receiving and three receiving touchdowns.
TE Tony Scheffler, Denver Broncos
Tony Scheffler was the recipient of two of Cutler’s four touchdown passes. He also had six catches for 64 yards to go along with the touchdowns.
K Ryan Longwell, Minnesota Vikings
In Week 2, Ryan Longwell went 5-for-6 on field goal attempts including one from 50+ yards. For those savvy fantasy owners who started him, pat yourself on the back.
D Green Bay Packers
Against the Detroit Lions, Green Bay put on a defensive show. All told, the Packers finished with five sacks, three interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.

Is Darren McFadden ready for fantasy football stardom?

Dwight Howard and Dominique Dawes Video
August 19, 2008 by Stephen Kersey
Dwight Howard has never been accused of not having a personality. When the Orlando Magic center met Dominique Dawes at an Olympic practice, Howard nearly lost it. Watch the video at the end of this entry to see Howard’s reaction for yourself.
Howard apparently was a big fan of Dominique Dawes, who many remember as one of the most famous female gymnasts of the last quarter century. Dawes is working for Yahoo these days covering the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
While this news doesn’t affect Howard’s fantasy basketball stock, it appears he meant one of his real life fantasies.

Charles Barkley Patron Video - Chugging Patron

Although Charles Barkley apparently quit gambling, he obviously didn’t quit drinking alcohol. In this video clip, you can clearly see Charles Barkley chugging patron straight out of the bottle. Luckily, he’s a tall and large man and the patron probably didn’t affect him too much.
During the basketball season, Barkley is the center of attention and arguably the world’s favorite basketball analyst. During the offseason, Barkley continues to find his way into the spotlight — somehow, someway.
Watch the Charles Barkley patron video where he is caught pounding patron here:
