Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

Joey Harrington, QB, Atlanta Falcons
If you are struggling at the quarterback position, Harrington is a player to consider. Yes, he’s just as likely to have a good week as a bad week, but he’s played well lately. The last two weeks he’s tallied two touchdowns in each game and hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 1. At this point, he’s a decent backup fantasy quarterback.
Michael Pittman, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With Cadillac Williams out for the rest of the season, Pittman is a player to target. He’s a threat out of the backfield to catch the ball, which makes him great in points per reception leagues. If you can’t get Pittman, also look at Earnest Graham. Graham should also get a lot of work and figures to be the team’s goal line back.
Bobby Engram, WR, Seattle Seahawks
With Darrell Jackson gone to San Francisco and DJ Hackett injured, Engram might be Matt Hasselbeck’s most trusted weapon. If you need an emergency starter, Engram is a great pickup in the next couple weeks. If his role remains large, he could finish the season with seven or eight touchdowns.
Desmond Clark, TE, Chicago Bears
While Brian Griese struggled in his first start, he did target Clark ten times during the game. Clark caught seven of those passes including a touchdown. If Griese continues to pass Clark the ball at a clip even half as much, he is a very good backup tight end who could grow into a starting role in fantasy football.
New York Giants, Defense
The Giants defense started the year off pitifully. Currently, they’re playing great football. This week, the Giants face the Jets and should be able to keep up their sacking ways. Pick them up and start them with confidence this week.

I hope the NYG can keep up their D because I just picked them up. I wish I had them last week!
Joey Harrington, Michael Pittman and the Giants are good fantasy picks!!!! Anyone who says that the NFL is predictable is totally clueless. The ridiculously impossible happens every week in this game. Maybe I should go and pick up Gus Frerotte just in case.
