2008-2009 NHL Season to Begin in Europe

Ugh.  I may be in the minority but I did not enjoy the games from London for this season’s opener so I’m trying to dig up the enthusiasm to do it all over again next season.

The NHL has announced that the 2008-09 regular season will begin with the Ottawa Senators facing off against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Stockholm, Sweden and the New York Rangers meeting the Tampa Bay Lightning in Prague.

The European games will be played before the rest of the regular-season schedule begins in North America.

All four teams are expected to play pre-season games in Europe as well.

This is more appropriate than NFL cause most the guys are from Europe.
Remember when you only had to be able to pronounce just a few French names?
