Calgary Flames at San Jose Sharks – Stanley Cups Playoff Game #1

Woohoo!  Here’s game #1 between the San Jose Sharks and Calgary  Flames.

Stephane Yelle just beat Evgeni Nabokov!!!  Woot!!! 

Dion Phaneuf just scored too!  Two goals in 2.5 minutes!  Dude!  Go Calgary!

Ah, Kiprusoff!!!!  What the hell was he doing so far out of the net!!!!  Ryane Clowe just scored!

Matthew Lombardi is having some skate issues.  I would hate to have to get new skates during a playoff game

Wow!  That save just now redeemed that crappy play by Kipper earlier.

Ooh Dion Phaneuf just checked Rissmiller and he looks kinda shaky.  He’s off to the bench.  I hope he’s okay.

First period is over!

Second period has started.  A few minutes into it and there’s a funny set of events which sent Jonathan Cheechoo sliding across the ice.

Kristian Huselius took at shot and it hit the cross bar (yay for trying) but completely blew the rebound (booo!).

Kipper really needs to keep his ass in the net.  What the heck is with him tonight?  He is coming out way too far!

This is getting physical!  Man, both of these teams are fired up!!!  Ryane Clowe and Dion Phaneuf have exchanged blows and now Clowe is in the box.  Of course, SJ fans are not happy.

What is wrong with this crowd?  They just boo non-stop (throughout the game too) and it’s lame, I’m sorry.  Be a good sport and support your team.  You’ll look much better.  K?

Holy smokes!  Jarome Iginla was basically abused as he went to the net (no calls) and he got a shot off anyway, the puck is in the net and then the net comes because an SJ player pushed Iggy into it and now it’s under review.  This kind of crap shouldn’t be tolerated.  IT’S A GOAL!!!!!!

Third period.

What a penalty kill by the Flames!  Kipper is looking like he should!!!!  This game is a lot more exciting than I was expecting.

Kyle McLaren just totally took a dirty cheap shot at Jarome Iginla and he got exactly what he deserved – a trip to the penalty box.  I must point out, however, that the Flames have gotten away with a couple things so I can understand some of the Sharks’ frustration.

OMG, how slow is Adrian Aucoin???? And what kind of ass pass was that? Talk about wasting a power play…  Just because they have a two goal lead, doesn’t mean they should take a break.  With 6 minutes left, there’s no time for slacking!

HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The puck just went through Kip’s legs but the whistle was blown (and Phaneuf saved it).  Oh. My. God.  That was so flipping close.

WOW – WHAT A GOAL!!!!!  Kipper did all he could and Ryane Clowe did not give up.  He scored an amazing goal with a minute left!

OMG this last minute was everything a playoff game should be.  HOW EXCITING!!!!  The Flames won 3-2 with Kip making 37 saves!
