Caps’ Backstrom Scores on Own Net – Video

Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!  I would not want to be Nicklas Backstrom this morning.  Yesterday’s big Washington Capitals versus the Pittsburgh Penguins match up was slated to be a good game.  Who doesn’t want to see Sidney Crosby go up against Alexander Ovechkin?  Unfortunately, things went terribly wrong when Sid took a shot, missed the net and then, newly acquired Caps goalie, Cristobal Huet, apparently tried to clear the crease only to be scored on by teammate Nick Backstrom.  That sucks so bad, especially in a game like this one.  Hell, it was the “NBC Game of the Week” lol…

Oh, did I mention that this was in the last minute of a tied game?  I felt really sorry for Huet who just slowly slinked down to lay face down on the ice.  The Pens beat the Caps 4-2.  Watch the ugly details here:

Oops! He was trying to clear it behind the net…good pressure by Pittsburgh to frazzle him.
It was fun though to see the reactions of the Washington players after he did that. You never want to be “that guy”. lol
