The Washington Capitals were not only shut down by the New York Rangers during the second game in their series but they were also shut out. Honestly, I was expecting a bigger battle from the matchup and I am beginning to wonder if I’m ever going to see one.

The loss serves the team right after pulling goaltender Jose Theodore from the starting lineup for no good reason. Instead, they chose to put a barely used rookie between the pipes and I hope it taught them a lesson. Don’t get me wrong, despite being a native Montrealer, I’m not Theodore’s biggest fan but I think that it was a stupid move and was totally demoralizing to the team (and goaltender) after only a single loss in a close game.
Rangers goalie, Henrik Lundqvist, made 35 saves to lead his team to a 2-0 victory. If Washington doesn’t get their game together, they will be facing a very embarrassing sweep. Watch the highlights from game 2:
