Ducks Wisniewski Taken Off Ice on Stretcher

The Anaheim Ducks had to remain focused on the game after watching defenceman, James Wisniewski, taken off the ice on a stretcher. He was injured when he was his in the head by the elbow of Detroit Red Wings forward, Tomas Holmstrom.
I’m not exactly sure what the nature of the injury truly is, to be honest, since when I was watching the game, the commentators blamed it on him getting hit in the chest with the puck (it looked that way to me too, initially). Apparently, he was actually hurt when Holmstrom skated by and delivered the elbow shot with 6:11 to play in the second period as Wisniewski stood defending Anaheim’s net. This happened just seconds after he was hit with the slap shot. Poor guy. He was then taken to UC Irvine Medical Center for precautionary reasons.
I really hope he’s okay. The Ducks have a real shot at continuing to defy the odds and he’s an important part of the team. Obviously, his health is more important than any game but I just hope everything turns out well. Watch the video:
