It’s the worst kept secret but, finally, it has been announced that Boston’s Fenway Park will host the 2010 Winter Classic which will feature a matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers on
January 1st.
Of course, NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman, is already foaming at the mouth with excitement. He said: "a unique event deserves a unique venue, and we are delighted the Bruins and Flyers will renew their rivalry with the ‘Green Monster’ providing the backdrop. We welcome our fans, our teams, our sponsors and the great city of Boston to this annual celebration of our sport."
Don’t get me wrong – I think it’s a lot of fun to have these outdoor games but now the novelty is starting to wear off a little bit. I’m still going to watch and I’m still going to get into the game but I won’t be as excited as I was the first time.
