georges laraque Georges Laraque discussed the trouble he went through just because of how he looked.  I have to admit that I was pretty blind to this kind of thing until the 2003-04 Stanley Cup Playoffs.  I could not believe some of the signs I saw greeting Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla (who is part African-American).  He never faltered, he just kept playing and I wondered if I could ever possess such strength and restraint.

Racism is alive and well in the NHL as it is everywhere.  Watch Georges Laraque’s story:

    Great video , I love to watch Laraque play,Glad hes in the NHL, far better than him being in Football.
    Hes a great asset to the NHL.
