Huet Sidelined With Injury, Halak Called Up

What a coincidence! I’ve been talking non-stop about how smart the Montreal Canadiens are for playing Carey Price as much as they have. With goalie Cristobal Huet nursing a pulled groin, the Habs have had to recall Jaroslav Halak from their American Hockey League affiliate on Monday.
Halak, 22, will serve as a backup to Carey Price. That’s crazy town! I really liked Halak last year and I was disappointed when he got demoted.
Huet, who is listed as day to day, sports a 7-6-3 record this season with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
The France-born netminder pulled his groin during Montreal’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Halak posted a 4-4-2 record with two shutouts and a 2.66 GAA in 11 games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs this season.
A native of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, Halak played in 16 games with the Canadiens last season.
Well, hopefully Huet will not be out for long and things can get back to normal. I think both of these backups have huge potential so I wouldn’t want him to come back to an awkward situation, if you get what I’m saying… It happens, you know.

I like Carey Price as well, I doubt he’ll have any problems filling that role and maybe even keeping it when Huet comes back, who knows.
I gotta admit that, if I were Huet, I’d be a teensy bit worried about my spot as the #1 goalie, depending on how long he’s out. Of course, there’s talk all over the place about not burning Carey out but we’ll see…
Heut should not worry about his job,cuz this kid price is still a rookie and they need to bring him along slowly or they will ruin him for sure
