Isles Ink Nielsen to 4-Year $2.1 Million Deal

Frans NielsenThe New York Islanders have come to an agreement with 24-year-old Dane, Frans Nielsen.  He has signed a $2.1 million deal that will keep him with the club for the next four years.

Nielsen was selected 87th overall by the Isles during the 2002 NHL Draft and, in his 16 games played last season, he managed to get two goals and one assist.

His time in the AHL seems to have been good since, in 48 games with Bridgeport, he posted 10 goals and 28 assists.

“We’re excited to have Frans locked up for the next four years,” said Islanders general manager Garth Snow. “We know he is going to come to training camp in great shape and ready to compete for his spot on the team.”
