Lecavalier’s 11-Year Deal with Tampa Bay

We all knew it was coming so here are the details – Vincent Lecavalier has signed an 11-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning worth $85 million! This means that the Bolts have Vinny locked up until the 2019-2020 season. The breakdown in payments is as follows:
- $10-million per season in salary and bonuses for the first six seasons
- $8.5-million in 2016-2017
- $4-million in 2017-2018
- $1.5-million in 2018-2019
- $1-million in 2019-2020
Pretty smart for all parties involved since the last two years have such a lower value which is great if Vinny retires or his skills start to decline majorly.
