New York Rangers Fire Head and Assistant Coaches

The coaching staff for the New York Rangers is the latest shake-up new york rangers tom renneyhappening in the NHL.  I’ve been reading reports all morning about the dismissal of both head coach, Tom Renney, and the assistant coach, Perry Pearn.  That’s gonna be a huge change for the Rangers who have dropped from first place to barely being within a playoff spot. 

It’s always risky to make such a huge coaching change at this point in the season but it’s better to try to save a team’s chances than to let things continue in a downward spiral (the other assistant coach, Mike Pelino, and goaltending coach, Benoit Allaire, are still with the club).  Only time will tell whether this gamble will pay off…
