Detroit's Chris Osgood, right, leads all NHL goalies with a 1.68 goals-against average this season.Detroit Red Wings goalie, Chris Osgood is on fire and the Red Wings would be crazy not to lock him up.  He’s got a 19-2-1 record, the best GAA in the league (1.68), the second best save percentage (.932) and is fifth for wins (19) and even has 2 shutouts!

He’s been given a three-year contract extension.  He was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, is earning $800,000 US this year, but will earn $1.5 million a season under the new deal.

"Chris has a tremendous career record as an NHL goaltender and his performance this season places him as one of the top goalies in the game today," Holland said.

"He’s been a big part of our success in every season he has been with the Wings and we’re very happy to have him signed for an additional three seasons."
