WOW! I was already upset about Jonathan Toews but this is crushing! Colorado Avalanche forward, Ryan Smyth, is out indefinitely after spraining an ankle in Monday’s 4-3 shootout loss to Phoenix. Even though his x-rays were negative, he won’t be dressing anytime soon
"We’ll see how he responds to treatment over the next little while, and we’ll have a better idea then," Avalanche coach Joel Quenneville told the Denver Post.
It was unclear how Smyth, who took a couple of big hits against the Coyotes, was injured.
Third in Colorado scoring with 28 points, he joins captain Joe Sakic on the sidelines. Sakic is out a minimum two months following hernia surgery last month.
Isn’t this weird? Just a couple weeks ago, Ryan had an unexplained neck injury…

Who cares about Ryan Symth…we need more outdoor games in BUFFALO…If not in buffalo then somewhere in the northeast. They should have a primetime game every Sunday Nite after the football season is over! the NHL needs to change it up a bit, we need more fighting! BELIEVE IT! peace ironmike
I did like the Winter Classic. A bit of a mess but lots of fun!
