Scotty was the true example of what a hockey defenseman should be. Tough, gritty, punishing, but at the same time very smooth and fast when he needed to be. He was also a great passer and had a ton of assists. He was the reason I watched hockey and the reason I became a Devils fan. I was there for all three cup celebrations. The names..Brodeur, Lemeuix, Richer, Danyeko, Elias, Arnott, Friesen, Langenbrunner, Neuwiendyk…all say it was the leadership of Scott Stevens that drew all those teams together. A fierce hitter, a true leader, and ALWAYS the Captain of the New Jersey Devils. A well deserved icing to a great career.
Thank You Scotty.
