Sedin Twins Seeking Contract Extensions?

I’m reading reports that the Sedin Twins are hoping to sign a 12-year, $73 million dollar contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks. I can’t say I’m surprised but I’m a little disappointed that they aren’t thinking about heading to another team.
I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with them staying with the Canucks but I actually think there’s a lot of untapped talent with these guys and I also think that they don’t get the recognition they deserve (which means a lot considering how much I dislike Vancouver).
If you believe the Swedish website expressen.se, the offer has already been turned down by Canucks management. Daniel Sedin was interviewed on CKNW today and said: “I don’t want to talk about it. When this gets done, we will talk, but right now well keep it between Mike (Canucks GM Gillis) and ourselves.”
With days left before they become unrestricted free agents, you would think Vancouver would be all over trying to lock these guys up but then again, this can also be a time for shockers. I hope that if a fair deal can’t be struck, these two go to a team that will really appreciate them and help them take their play to the next level.

News articles have the wrong address, it’s expressen.SE not a .ca website.
